This is great! Have you considered optionally integrating socials and gmail to learn about your history automagically?
@rohan_arun1, thank you! And that's a great idea, long-term we foresee a big source of competition from Apple and Google's "Memories" feature as those companies index more and more of your digital life. We definitely see an avenue where we can inspire similar story-telling opportunities from digital footprints outside the interview context. However, after doing 100+ customer interviews, the more pressing problem is tackling those of us who don't have those digital photos or videos or records - the elderly. Fireside makes it easy for that demographic to record conversations and in the future we'll add in features to upload those analog records into a digital scrapbook to keep forever.
Love that idea @derkolstad - we definitely want to extend beyond just interviewing your parents/grandparents to others in your life. The platform itself is super extensible and I'm excited to explore new avenues. Who do you think would be most invested in listening to those types of Fireside chats?
@ravi_bhankharia Chats from networking events with guest speakers. Like Meetup.com groups that have workshops yet they don’t put them online afterwards. So if you just joined, you never see the past guest chats.

This is such a brilliant idea, especially for preserving memories. Wondering especially for older generations who are not as tech savvy but aren't in the same location, how do you capture this? And aside from Vinyls, will there be an option to make a book or something? Thanks, so cool!

What's up Ravi. This seems like an amazing idea and I don't want to detract from your goal for it but I wanted to share an idea. I'm not sure if you already do this, but a potential story sharing option where people can publicly share their stories can be a cool factor to add. I think the idea of going into an app and being able to learn from others experiences seems great.
I think expanding on it into both a method of sharing with family through the vinyl's and a social media platform based around sharing real stories and allowing people of all ages to learn from others would be cool.
Especially if it's made on the app without the overstimulating nature of many other platforms. Maybe even doing it with minimal editing options just enough to make it quality enough to enjoy watching the videos. Especially with AI's progression, raw videos will become more and more desired imo and it matches well with the goals you set for it.
Potentially allowing the vinyl's as a monetization stream for people making content to let others purchase them if people watching found it interesting or meaningful.
That said I'm not sure if you're trying to avoid becoming a social media platforms, but just an idea. I have no idea how development of things like these work or if my ideas even possible, just wanted to share even if it was unnecessary, haha.

Our users love discovering stories they've never heard before, here's a few examples: One user recorded their dad's childhood stories and now has a keepsake to revisit anytime. Another captured their grandma’s immigration journey, while a family came together to create a heartfelt gift for their mom’s birthday.

Hey @hritik_choudhary, great questions - when you set up your interview, we have you answer a short quiz about your loved ones (such as the important people in their lives, or big milestones), and ask you a bit more about the type of tone/topics you'd like to dig into during your interview which we then feed to a large language model to generate insightful questions that provoke deeper conversations.
Security and privacy is top of mind for us. I used to work on Amazon Alexa and at a small HIPAA-compliant startup so I have experience dealing with critical and private data. You're always in full control of what exactly is published and when and can un-publish any of your interviews at any time. In addition, all of your interview data is encrypted at rest.
