Launch Day is Finally Here! 🤗 We’re Max, Cam and Jon, the founders of fforward.ai, and we’ve made it 10x easier to analyze customer interviews. If you’re a product manager, product designer or startup founder, we hope you’ll give it a shot. We need your feedback and ideas so we can further improve the product. Why did we build fforward? We built fforward to help you decide what to build next, so you can build a product people love. Customer interviews give us the evidence we need to make good decisions and build products people love. But analyzing customer interviews takes forever, and we have lots of other things to do. Over the past six months, we’ve interviewed over 150 PMs, UX researchers and startup founders to understand how they analyze customer interviews and use those insights to make great product decisions. We built fforward so any product team can reveal insights in customer interviews, uncover themes across all of your interviews, and discover opportunities for your product roadmap. Here’s how it works: * Upload your interview transcripts to fforward and let fforward handle the rest * fforward will automatically pull out user needs and opportunities from your customer interviews * fforward will tell you why each opportunity is relevant to your product and give it a quality score * fforward will find common themes across groups of interviews You can use these themes to: * Prioritize your roadmap based on real evidence, not just intuition. * Generate new solution concepts based on hidden opportunities. * Facilitate conversations with product stakeholders Our ask from you today We’re thrilled to share fforward with you today, and to celebrate, we’re giving every PH user three free interview analysis credits. In return, we would love your feedback so we can continue to improve the product and build a helpful tool that people love. Please share your comments and feedback here in the comments! We also want to thank the product hunt community for inspiring us to get up and work hard every day. Seeing all of you launch so many amazing products every day motivates us to keep going, even when things are tough. Onwards!
Tornike Tsiramua
@maxcameron As a startup founder that seems quite useful and smart approach. Congratulations, well done!
Cameron Westland
@maxcameron @mohini_shewale thank you! Yes agreed! Really learning from customer stories is at the core of our product!
Max Cameron
@mohini_shewale Couldn't agree more Mohini! This is a critical activity that gets ignored by a lot of product teams. Hopefully our tool can make it easy enough for anyone to get in the habit of leading consistent customer interviews. Thank you for your support!
Max Cameron
@tornike_tsiramua1 Thansk Tornike - it's so important to discover real customer pains when you're getting a startup off the ground. A lot of founders think they have all the answers using intuition, but having real evidence to make decisions can be super useful. Appreciate your support!

Jacopo Proietti
Congrats on the launch! Does it also do the interviews transcripts (e.g. can it attend a gmeet and take notes?)
Cameron Westland
@jacopo_proietti No! We looked at the market and saw most major video apps are adding built-in functionality! You can take those transcripts and bring them straight into fforward.
Saqib Ali
How can fforward streamline the process for solo researchers managing high volumes of user interviews?
Cameron Westland
@saqib_ali_ effectively we reduce the time it takes to do analysis and clustering/theming.
Isaac Martin Otim
Hey Max, I immediately get it. I have wanted a tool like this for months, is there any way to plug this into support emails as well as transcripts? Also, very well designed (give the designer a pat on the back). Congratulations Max and team!
Cameron Westland
@izakotim support emails are definitely on our radar! I'd love to interview you to learn more about how you're using them today! I will pass your kudos on to Jon!
Dhruv Trehan
This looks great, @maxcameron. The opportunity identification looks super valuable. Does this work only with interview transcripts, or other kinds of customer interactions like email threads etc? Congratulations on the launch team!
Cameron Westland
@maxcameron @dhruv_trehan1 thanks! Right now it only works with interview transcripts. Our aim was to avoid trying to be "mile wide, inch deep" and give a really good analysis with interview transcripts!
Max Cameron
@dhruv_trehan1 Thanks for the support Dhruv - we only support user interview transcripts to generate insights. Support emails and sales calls typically lack the detail needed to generate the insights you need for really good product discovery.
Carol Moh
Congrats on a great launch @maxcameron - could this be useful for us @janie_baek when we do our customer interviews?
Germán Merlo
Hey Max! You did it. It’s launching time and you’re doing a great job here. Customer interviews are actually hard to plan, run and analyze. Thanks for helping on that key task. All the best on this journey mate
Cameron Westland
@german_merlo1 thanks for the kind words! Agreed about the pain.
Daniel Zaitzow
Launching soon!
@maxcameron Killer idea and congrats on the launch. As someone who spent YEARS in the recruitment space I always thought about ways to scale exit interviews and also really thought a lot about interviewing folks who interact with our products and services (I know recruitment interviews are much different but the 1 to 1 interview premise is the same) automation tools to get this data that is often lost forever is really cool!
Muneeb Awan
Can fforward help identify and analyse trends across multiple user interviews to inform product development?
Cameron Westland
@muneebawan it's my favorite feature. We convert all the opportunities we identify into embeddings and then use machine learning to cluster them into themes. We then label the themes using GenAI! You definitely have to see the video above to see it in action.
Nuno Reis
This si quite interesting, I do lots of these and something to help out thinking how to run and imporve a customer interview is always welcome. I'd just advise to be careful of being too in your face, as you don't want to get the person unfocused with UI and (sometimes I see this with good intentions) generic tips.
Cameron Westland
@nuno_ms_reis Ah yes! Thank you for the suggestions! Appreciate you stopping by.
Andrei Kashtanov
Wow, amazing idea! đź‘Ť It's so nice to see AI used for something interesting rather than just being a buzzword. Definitely will give it a try!
Cameron Westland
@etr_king thanks for the kind words! Agreed 100%.
Max Cameron
@etr_king Couldn't agree more. The AI startups that will be around in five years are the ones that tackle real business problems.

Pulkit Agrawal
Congrats @maxcameron! As someone who was ahead of the curve in the digital/product adoption space I know there's a great product mind here at work. Hoping for some integrations to more easily get transcripts into your system (e.g. with Fathom.ai which we use for recording our interviews) but excited to see where you go!
Cameron Westland
@maxcameron @_pulkitagrawal fathom.ai integration is on our radar!
Egor Karpov
As someone involved in product development, the concept of fforward.ai seems very useful. đź‘Ť Is there a feature to integrate these insights directly into existing project management tools like notion for example?
Cameron Westland
@ekarp Yes, you can export opportunities and themes from our tool directly to a project management tool like Notion. We have deep links so you can always get back to the exact line in the transcript.
Julia Doronina
Congratulations on the launch! Can fforward.ai provide deeper insights than traditional user research methods?
Cameron Westland
@julia_demyanchuk Thank you! I believe so yes. Since AI never gets tired or suffers, you typically see a lot more opportunities generated. This is important since it can uncover unique insights when compared across multiple interviews (which we do with our themes feature!)
Eugene Woo
I was part of the early tester of fforward. We used to manually summarize and organize our user calls. With fforward, we uploaded real transcripts(anonymized) and just let it do the work for us. The results very good. We will continue to use it for our future user calls.
Cameron Westland
@wooyi thanks Eugene! Really appreciate your continued support. You've been supporting our startups for nearly 15 years now!
Tarun Sachdeva
Congrats on the launch folks! This looks immediately useful and I’m looking fforward to trying it out (lol)!
Frank Sondors
I've done 100+ customer interviews in 2023. This looks like a great product!
Cameron Westland
@franksondors Nice! What's your goal for 2024!?
Max Cameron
@franksondors That's great to hear Frank. I'm sure you've benefitted from every single one of them.
Scott Howard
Is fforward an effective tool for a non-product manager to leverage? As a founder I do and participate in a ton of work that is Product Management, but I am not formally trained and have not dedicated myself to the practice. Hoping tools and AI can enhance my abilities here. I can also imagine this being useful for pulling insights from consulting or discovery calls in sales situations. Headed to your site to have a go.
Cameron Westland
@howardscottj Hey Scott! Thanks. For product managers we think our tool makes it easier to get reliable insights from customer interviews! Give it a spin and let us know what you think.
Saumil Patel
Congrats on the launch team! Being able to extract key insights from customer interviews instantly is a superpower.
Cameron Westland
@saumilp_ Yes! That's our aim.
