I was one of the first customers to use this service. Amazing concept and perfect for larger pieces you dont want to commit to buying and selling later on. I got a king bed frame which I would have never bought knowing how hard it would be to sell in NYC. I ended up leaving my apartment early so the rental arrangement worked out perfectly

Thanks @msskwan! Always good to get some unbiased feedback :)

Hey @jayreno, Love this concept! I have a few spaces I'm working on in my place. What's changed since your launch last year?
Jay Reno
Thanks @jacqvon! And great question. We began as a furniture rental company to test our hypothesis that people valued access to "stuff" over ownership. Fortunately we're finding that hypothesis becoming true. But in the process our customers gave us heaps of helpful feedback about what they wish Feather could become. Among the most common were: 1) "What if I love my furniture and want to buy some of the pieces at the end? 2) "Can I swap for new items at the end?" 3) "Can I get furniture from brands I love?" We altered Feather's core product from a rental service to a subscription service. Rental is simple, and implies returning at the end. So to give our customers the flexibility they were asking for, we knew we had to widen the options at the end of the service from "return" to "renew, swap, buy, or return". We rebuilt our product to be focused on offering full flexibility so you can have furniture that changes with your changing life. We've also upgraded 95% of our furniture and partnered with brands like West Elm, Casper, Pottery Barn, and Joybird. Our mission is to transform our relationship with material goods to create a happier and healthier planet. As part of this, we've taken steps closer to doing away with "disposable furniture" - items that will likely end up on the street or in landfills when someone is moving. We are committed to sourcing furniture from manufacturers and brands that make stylish furniture that's built to last. And we build a super helpful style quiz that asks a few questions about your life and you new place, and our algorithm spits out furniture that will fit your space and style. We're still refining and tweaking the algorithm, so any feedback here would surely be helpful!

I'm loving' it!

Pros:

Super convenient set up and deliveries

Cons:

A dashboard to manage my subscription, swap, etc would be awesome!

I'm a Feather user. Furniture move in was super simple and the furniture itself is really high quality. Definitely recommend them!

@derek_t_lo @jayreno We are furniture office chair manufacturers, this year will open self-built station and sale in third-party platform such as amazon. When reading your website's introduction, we want to know if we have the opportunity to join your websites. Waiting for your reply.

Hey PH community! We're so excited to launch Feather 2.0 - a first of it's kind furniture subscription service designed for people with changing lives. I wrote a bit about our new product launch in a reply to Jacqueline von Tesmar, but to summarize: 1) We've moved from "rent" to "subscription". Rent implies returning at the end. Our new subscription product give you the flexibility to decide whether you'd like to renew, swap, buy, or return at the end of your plan. 2) We've upgraded 95% of our furniture and partnered with brands like West Elm, Casper, Pottery Barn, and Joybird to give you stylish and built to last furniture. 3) We're getting rid of disposable furniture. Our mission is to transform the relationship people have with material goods to create a healthier and happier planet. That means doing away with "disposable furniture" - items that will likely end up on the street or in landfills when someone is moving. We're committed to diverting furniture from landfills and recycling/donating furniture where we can. We highly welcome any feedback and comments you have - it's how we'll ensure we're building the right service for y'all!

Cool platform, the option to buy the furniture after having it in your place for a year would be convenient. But it dosn't look like you service Austin yet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jay Reno
Soon enough @rmanor, soon enough! :)

This service seems great for small apartment dwellers like me. I'm based in New York city and always looking for a way to improve my space. Good luck with your launch!
Jay Reno
Spot on, @joshuasimenhoff. Our furniture was chosen primarily for urban apartment dwellers with small-to-medium sized spaces. Thanks for the kind words!

Love the idea and will definitely try once it's available in my area. I wish there is an option for one month since sometimes friends come to visit for a short time. Also, Feather will be helpful when people are going to host a party.

Hello do you ship to Montreal Canada?
Jay Reno
Not yet @ayan404, but we hope to at some point.

Although I am not a customer of Feather, I love their mission. I fully support a business that's focused on high quality products that adapt to real life situations.

Such a widespread issue, I'm happy to see such a flexible, green solution.

Great idea. Do you have special schedule for the delivery? Can any furniture be delivered within one hour?
