Coming from the developer of Fakespot, the ultimate consumer protector company: The NFT Guard Chrome extension protects you from fraudulent NFT collections on OpenSea and scam NFT mint sites that are trying to steal your wallet and coins.
I was phished yesterday. I was ridiculously dummy. A discord account invited me a server named "adidas original" , it has like more then 74k members, so I simply clicked the join button. Then it requires to verify like a normal NFT server. The verify link has a fake metamask wallet interface, asked my secret phase and I did so. I'm distracted because the wallet is empty, I don't need to worry to lose a penny, metamask shuts down my Chrome every time I tried to connected. So appreciate you made a NFT guard, thanks.
@shellehs Sorry to hear about it, Alamo. We are noticing a huge uptick in fraud on all facets of the NFT market. We strive to bring trust to the experience. Please check us out and give us feedback on anything you think we can improve upon!
This product is just what we need at the time were so many phony NFT's are offered everyday. With this tools I have peace of mind. Thank you for your hard work! 🙌
Hello fellow hunters! We are super thrilled to announce our latest Chrome extension, NFT Guard.
We are seeing a huge rise in fraud on NFT marketplaces (OpenSea) and mint sites. As crypto enthusiasts and believers in web3, we had to do something about it.
No one is protecting consumers and it is our mission at Fakespot to do exactly just that, protect you and your frens from scams and fix the problems that centralized platforms have with fraud on their marketplaces.
Check out our extension when you buy NFTs on OpenSea or when you are browsing a mint site. There are *A LOT* of scams happening. We love to hear your feedback and are available @NFT_Guard on Twitter.
If you're interested in checking out our other products, we also detect fake reviews and counterfeit products using AI on Amazon, Walmart and millions of stores via our primary extensions. Learn more at https://fakespot.com
Thank you!
@nft_guard@saoud_khalifah Hey Saoud,
Congrats on launching this product, came right on time!
I tested the plugin on few sites but was unable to find how does it work, it's analyzing and it doesn't show me anything on opensea as well?mayb because I just installed it?
@nft_guard@abdullah_mallak If you have it installed, please pin the extension then browse OpenSea and you will see our verified badge. For mint site analysis, when on a mint site, just click Analyze Site in the extension popup. Here is a bit more info: https://www.fakespot.com/welcome...
@nft_guard@saoud_khalifah Just tested it again and it worked as you mentioned. thanks a lot for the response. (I think the previous issue was due to just installing it)
Sounds like a good service but why do you allow the NFT sellers to be anonymous? I think that is a big problem with the NFT space and you would never invest in a company when don’t know who is behind it..?
@swebliss1 Our extension is intended to protect you from fake NFT collections + fake mint sites. We may consider other features in the future, so please contact us if you have suggestions.
@swebliss1 Great question. We started with a core list of criteria based on indicators that would generate a good list of safe collections and NFTs. We will work with the community to evolve it based on feedback and how well the criteria is working.
@oleksiy_malytskyy Thanks Oleksiy! First release supports OpenSea and many mint sites (both scam and verified). If you have any suggestions for next marketplaces for us to add, please let us know!
hey ph frens & ?makers, congrats on your launch :)! Looks awesome! I like the convenience of a google chrome extension and the general good looking UI. But I don't see the necessary decentralized verification in this project. I also wonder about data protection (user behavior, browser history, etc.). Me and some other web3 natives are working on a sustainable and stable decentralized verification VeriDAO (https://showcase.ethglobal.com/n...). Whats your take/opinion about dec/privacy :))?
Anyone interested in decentralized verification VeriDAO should contact me via twitter (https://twitter.com/heyrobinkunz)
?makers I was just discussing something like this with a friend yesterday, and it's already here! Super helpful.
Wanted to know if it works only with OpenSea projects, or with other NFT marketplaces too?
@adityavsc Aditya, thanks for the comment! Current release supports OpenSea and numerous mint sites (both scam and verified). We welcome your suggestions for any new marketplaces you'd like us to cover!
@adityavsc@saoud_khalifah Greetings Saoud! There is a great need to filter out fake and fraudulent players generating NFT's. I am the creator of authentic NFT's based on designs of my pug over the 13-years that I photographed him. Here is what I would suggest. What if you had a service whereby I and other creators could visit to register and be pre-vetted as being authentic. I think that would be a great approach to have the market come to you as apposed to the other way around. Whatever the case, I think you have a very necessary services as the creation of NFT's is growing exponentially. Allem
@galaxyx7 We define scams as mint sites that will actually steal your tokens once you connect your wallet and they aren't associated with the actual collection owners. Try clicking "Analyze Site" when on a mint site, and you will see our analysis result.
