@nneuman It creates a traceable chain that can't be changed and is much more permanent since it's saved on a series of computers. For example if this was around during the time of Da Vinci he could record his painting onto the blockchain and add a QR code to the back of it and each person that acquired the painting could record that transaction so that today you could trace the painting all the way back to him and know it was a real Da Vinci painting.
