Its a DIY app builder platform designed to help small businesses, individuals and agencies create mobile apps for iOS and Android devices quickly, without the need for any coding.
They have over 20 modules that can be customized to suit any business type, from the most advanced food ordering system, geo-directory listing, product shopping, social media integration, quiz, gallery, form creator, custom content editor (with advanced html editing), loyalty points, stampcards, coupons, social integration and more...
AppInstitute offers app promotion tools like a mobile app landing page to help get your app launched with added services like Advanced Push Notifications, Analytics and CRM services.
Actually way more interesting than it first looks (design is meh). Non-tech startups could test mobile ux paths to scale and retain biz + they even allow others to franchise @AppInstitute.
@elizabethhunker Hi Elizabeth, thanks for your feedback and appreciate that you spent the time looking deeper into the platform instead of relying on first impressions. We are releasing updates to the platform all the time, including UI/UX improvements and updates so stick with us to watch us evolve. :)
@stefamini Hi Stefanie. Yes you can upload under your own developer accounts. As the apps are pre built using modular features on our CMS, AppInstitute own intellectual rights to the code itself but you always remain the owner of the content published. Hope that helps.
We've got a RESTful API, and are looking into building an iOS client. Is this a good solution for us for a simple booking and dashboard app? Most of the other platforms I have seen seem to be for static CMS content or real simple forms.
@kevinyun Hey Kevin, thanks for your question. We don't currently offer any API integration with our CMS/CRM platform at the moment. You can integrate external web pages to sit seamlessly into the App structure itself as a Tab page if you wanted to implement your own "booking module". Hope that helps.
@mattjdalby Hey Matt, so we offer a basic level of optimisation for the design. i.e customise your colour scheme, upload your own splash screen, app icon, custom tab icons, backgrounds etc... we also offer a sidebar menu or lower panel tab bar menu, but you can get a little more advanced with the design if you wanted to use the HTML module to create individual pages and use those pages to link within other pages of the app. We're always working on adding further levels of customisation when it comes to design/UI so let me know what you think and I can suggest it to our product development team. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)
I had the pleasure of writing some copy for App Institute. While I'm not their target market (busy small business owners), I can say that their team is on the ball when it comes to customer support/success. I even created a fake account while writing copy to test whether their support team was as helpful and responsive as they claimed (they totally were).
The technology takes centre stage, but their devotion to customer support deserves a little space as well! :)
@thunayan hi Thunayan. We've got over 20 mix and match modules you can play with to create an app for your business, personal project, band, blog, club, school, event or whatever you can think of that would work.
We do have a geo-location listing module and a photo upload feature in our forms module backed up with a CRM so you can view form submissions and reply directly to an app user through Push Notifications and a Messaging Centre. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)
This is so cool! I always love the idea of creating apps but coding is not my cup of tea. Thanks for this! Who knows, I might just create the next app of the year :D Is it possible though, to implement a complex idea? Looking forward to your answer.
@maila246 Hey Shamaila. Thanks for your comment. We do have some pretty advanced business focused modules on the platform like Food Ordering and Geo Location Listings for example. You can also upload custom icons, link out to external URLS or insert custom HTML pages - so there's alot of room for creating something more complex. But if you're looking to create the next Instagram or Pokemon Go then this probably isn't the platform for you.... although you could create a multiple choice Pokemon Go quiz. Hope that answers your question. :) Let me know what you think.
@faisal_hassanx Hi Faisal. If there is high demand for a particular module we don't currently have we will always endeavour to try and include it on our product roadmap when developing new features. Saying that, we do also offer custom app development as a completely separate service so there is always the possibility of integrating the two if your budget allows. Hope that helps. :)
