Eraser AI is the first copilot for technical design. Create and edit diagrams and docs with Eraser AI. Write natural language prompts which output diagram code that you can save and edit with Eraser.
Hi Product Hunt community 👋
There are so many coding copilots for engineers today, but where are copilots for non-coding tasks like drawing architecture diagrams and writing tech docs?
Eraser has generated 1 million+ (!) diagrams for our users in the last year and we are excited to launch Eraser AI, the first copilot for technical design. We want to take out the tedious parts of technical design for engineers and architects.
Here's what's special about Eraser AI:
🖼️ Rapid diagram generation – Draw that diagram in seconds, not hours. Eraser can generate beautiful, colorful, icon-studded diagrams. Choose from 4 different diagram types and include images in your prompts if you'd like.
⚙️ Full control on editing – You have a first draft, how do you make it perfect? This is where Eraser AI really shines. If you know exactly what you want, you can make direct diagram code edits. If it's open-ended or tedious edits, you can follow up with more AI prompts. Eraser AI always gives you full control.
📃 Tech doc outline generation – You're now set on diagrams, but need to write a design doc along with that diagram? We've got you covered. With Eraser AI, you can generate outlines for planning docs (RFCs, design docs) or documentation (READMEs).
Eraser AI is free to try!

This looks like a super useful addition to the developer toolchain.
If you need to communicate your stack or cloud setup across teams, to your devs, or up to management, Eraser AI is a fast and efficient way to do so. It builds on Eraser's existing shared whiteboarding capabilities and adds the ability to conversationally requests changes to existing diagrams or designs.
Like OmniGraffle of the future!
@chrismessina oh no, not OmniGraffle! 😱 I'm kidding :) Well said! Thank you for hunting Eraser and your thoughtful product / GTM input. It has been invaluable!
So you tell me that I can now design with written words?
That's great! I have been spending years using Figma and now I know this tool.
Great job guys! Upvoted!
@tiepvuvan You bet! A lot of indie hackers tell us their work pipeline is Figma (for mockup) → Eraser (for technical design) > VS Code (to write code).
Thank you @tiepvuvan
I am glad you came across Eraser and I hope it finds a home in your development workflow. We find that it works very well with Figma to fill a void at both the start and end of our Figma-based product design work.
Hi Shin,
Congrats on reaching the 1 million+ diagrams milestone with Eraser and launching Eraser AI! It sounds like a game-changer for anyone involved in technical design. Quick question: does Eraser AI support collaboration features for teams, or is it more geared towards individual use? Excited to give it a try!
@alex_dulub Thank you Alex! Regarding your question: Eraser AI is tightly integrated in core Eraser functionality and is not an obstacle to collaboration. Your teammates will be able to see the content created by AI as well as see prompt history for AI diagrams and even will be able to write edit prompts for Eraser AI to edit existing diagrams or edit diagram code manually themselves.
Eraser is one of my favorite whiteboarding tools, easy to get going, a free tier which is reasonable enough when you want to share a board with someone
@m_dolr really appreciate your endorsement here Maxime! We really try to make it easy to get started but powerful enough to handle complexity so this means a lot to us.
Using it daily for all of my projects. Super useful when you need to change a tiny bot and redraw the whole scheme because of it - Eraser does it all for you
Love the product. Love the team. Love what it enables me to do.
You've solved for the hardest part of diagramming – especially for a non-technical tech person like myself!
Congrats team. Can't wait to see what's next!
I'm following Shin's team since the early days, in particular DiagramGPT last year. It's amazing to see the speed of development and what Eraser AI has become.
The product is intuitive to use and the level of quality it produces is fascinating. It's the next step in software automation without any doubt.
@nickhung Our designer @thisisehsan is going to love hearing that! Would love to know how it goes. Which diagram type do you think is going to be most helpful for you?
Congrats on the launch!! This is awesome: I know from first hand experience building these types of diagrams at AWS was a huge pain. First, you'd have to download the 4+ GB folder of icons. Then, you'd have to sift through them to find the right one. Sometimes the wouldn't be labeled properly or new product team's icons hadn't been added yet!
This looks like it'll automate away alot of headache. Kudos and cheers to the team! Keep it up!
One of the genuinely coolest AI startups that isn't just another boring ChatGPT wrapper, you guys are gonna kill it for sure. Definitely keeping it bookmarked for future use, awesome stuff folks.
So far I've been hacking together prompts to allow me to do something like this with ChatGPT but it's awesome to see this actually come together in a real product. I think UI/UX are some of the most important pieces of the AI state we're in and I'm excited to put this through its paces. Good luck!
@zeng thank you! That is the beauty of our product, no coding is necessary. You can ask it to generate any type of diagram in plain english and it will do it for you.
@konrad_sx try it out and please let us know what you think! We want Eraser to "erase" complexity from your technical design and documentation! Also what's a whiteboard without an eraser 😛
@bradydowling We chose AWS as a default because that's what people use the most. If you tell it to use Azure or Google Cloud it will. If it thinks you're making something that doesn't belong in the cloud, it will use generic icons.
Congrats and good luck with your launch. At our upcoming AppAlloy (https://www.producthunt.com/prod...) release, a low-code mobile app builder platform, we're also striving for trying natural language prompt writer like yours to make users closer to AI supports. Let's share the support!
