👋 Hi, I’m Andrey. I never worked with any blockchain related technology and because I'm curious I decided to play around and build a simple side project powered by Blockstack technology (http://blockstack.org). We made it in 1 day just for fun with my friend @pierregillesl and applied to App Challenge (https://app.co/mining). If we win they'll pay up to $20,000/mo. What do you think, is important to have end-to-end encryption for your photos?

Hey guys @pierregillesl @andreyazimov 👋 Sounds cool, but answering your question, — no. Why would I need encryption for my photos? All I need is to make sure I never loose my photos, can blockchain and your solution solve it?

@pierregillesl @dr_dimitru I didn't find any practical use except making an extra backup of my photos. Blockchain here is an extra layer which I tried to play as a new technology. Maybe in some near future, it will make more sense to use Blockchain in such case.

Hi @andreyazimov cool project and the signup seems to work well. I would really suggest some more info on what problems Encrypt My Photos offers for users, how it works and why they should use it. For sure it great to make it easy for users to sign up, but they need to know why before they're going to want to go through another signup process.

I am quite illiterate on the technical part of blockchain, but I understand most of its use cases and advantages. Questions: 1. Will my photos be forever stored on a blockchain? 2. Could anybody else be able to access my pics? If the answer to these questions is yes and no, this could really make sense to keep my photos (and other personal data) safe and secure on a blockchain by paying a nominal fee in the form of a ethereum. Great product!

@nick_3999 yes, the data leaks that have happened in the past point towards an encrypted future. Especially the celebrity personal data leak. The product could help prevent such leaks. I am curious about the feature specifics of your product. P.S. A person might find a product to be great even if he/she doesn't know the specifics of how it works 🤓

In general a good idea, but I don't know anything about blockstack, how it works, advantages/disadvantages for an ordinary user (maybe this could be mentioned in description). So it's hard to entrust my photos to a project made by an indie maker in 1 day for fun.
