@zorzini Congratulations. I really like the UI and the overall UX. Is there a recount on how you built the audio library? I am curious of the team and efforts that went behind that!
Catalin Zorzini
@aris_nakos Hi Aris, thank you for the kind words! In terms of the library, we are already working with almost 200 field recordists from around the world, and actively reaching out to more artists every week, while also receiving direct submissions from the community.

@a_zelenkov many thanks Alex!
Catalin Zorzini
@max_savonin1 Thank you Max! We're working on the offline listening feature! Keep in touch

@kjosephabraham Hi Joseph, I think the biggest challenge is to keep a non-profit running. Much less opportunities for funding and for the growth and even marketing compared to for-profit projects, which I think it's a shame.
Zenda
Cool! After a busy day of work, I really need the sounds of nature to relieve stress. It's rare to see such a well-crafted app that's not related to AI. I love it! Congrats on the launch!
Catalin Zorzini
@zenda1122 Great point Zenda! 100% AI-free :)
Juanca Creativo

@xtralite Many thanks!
Muhammad Salman
Amazing I always love nature sounds. but I am curious to ask can we use this nature sounds for our use like on our site, in our videos or only listen to it?
Catalin Zorzini
@muhammad_salman39 Dear Muhammad, thank you for dropping in! The artists in our community put hundreds of hours of work into this and we are respecting them by not licensing the soundscapes for external use. You can enjoy them only in the Earth.fm app and website. Hope that help

@zulkarnaim that's very kind of you to say, many thanks Zulkar!
Kyrylo Silin
Hey Catalin, How do you select and verify the quality of the soundscapes featured on the platform? Congrats on the launch!
Catalin Zorzini
@kyrylosilin Thank you Kyrylo! Great question, this is our nr1 focus: to keep the quality bar extremely high, so we are manually curating and checking each recording and actively working with the 200+ artists in the community to make sure we're all on the same page regarding quality.

I see you’ve got 900+ natural soundscapes now, but I’m kinda wondering, do we really need so many, feels overwhelming and a bit useless to have too many options all at once, should focus be more on quality over quantity, like will we ever get personalized suggestions, hard to keep track of what I like, any ideas on improving that
Catalin Zorzini
@atostechcmo Ha, we are indeed focusing on quality over quantity, otherwise we would have 90,000 soundscapes :)
AuroraW
Sounds amazing. The meticulously curated library of high-quality natural soundscapes, combined with the interactive soundmap, offers a unique way to explore the world’s diverse environments through sound. This isn’t just an app; it’s a movement that encourages mindfulness, relaxation, and a deeper appreciation for our planet. All the best for the launch!
Catalin Zorzini
@auroraw many thanks Aurora!
Pradyumna

Richard Song
This app is a breath of fresh air, literally! The ability to explore and listen to high-quality nature sounds from around the world is just amazing. Congratulations on the launch, @zorzini! I’m curious, are there any plans to add a social feature where users can share their favorite soundscapes or create a community around it?
Catalin Zorzini
@renchu_song Many thanks Richard for the kind words. Indeed, we are actively building a community of people who appreciate nature and soundscapes, and users can share their faves via the website at the moment. The sharing feature from the app is next in line on our roadmap, after the offline listening feature :)

Looks like another app claiming to provide a vast collection of natural sounds, but honestly, isn’t this just a hyped-up Spotify playlist with an interactive map, i mean sure it's got over 900 recordings which is cool, but how’s that different from apps like Calm or Headspace that already do this, also how user-friendly is it really, have you considered adding more guided meditation options or maybe integrating it with smart speakers for a more seamless experience, would love to hear your thoughts on that, cheers
Catalin Zorzini
@chloeupmanrh yep thanks for asking about guided meditations! We are indeed working on something reaaaaaaly cool, stay tuned!! Spotify, Calm and Headspace are nice but when is the last time you heard the story behind a soundscape? Or the story of the artist who made that recording? Here you go: https://earth.fm/artists/
Eric Yang
Earth.fm is a fantastic idea! The variety of soundscapes and the ability to use it on the go is a game-changer. The field recording grants show a real dedication to authenticity. @zorzini

Catalin Zorzini
@sentry_co Hi André! Yes actually there's a mac app too, did you download it? https://earth.fm/earth-fm-for-de...
Marian Vovk
@zorzini Love the app's mission for mental wellness through nature sounds. How do you gather user feedback to enhance the app?
Catalin Zorzini
@marian_vovk Thank you Marian! Emails, social media DMs are great for feedback xx
Aarav Krishna
I’m curious if the app lets you download the soundscapes for offline listening? That would be perfect for when I’m on the go.
Catalin Zorzini
@aarav_krishna Hi Aarav, yes we're working on this feature and plan to release it for our users in the next two weeks. xx
Hannah Travis
Is there a feature that recommends soundscapes based on your mood or activity? That would be really helpful for meditation sessions.
Catalin Zorzini
@travis_hannah Yep, please check out our curated playlists: https://earth.fm/playlists/
Micha Cassola
Wow! This is simply great! 🤩🤩🤩
Catalin Zorzini
@michacassola many thanks Micha! Please give it a go and let us know what you think
Jan
Great app not just design-wise but also regarding the content it offers. It contains the biggest public worldwide library of pure and high-quality nature sounds from various sound recording artists. Hopefully, more people will get to know about this still much hidden gem.
Catalin Zorzini
@jan22 Thank you for your support Jan!
