Ditch the prototypes. Visually build native mobile apps

Get started building your next no-code app without having to create a backend first. With real or real-looking data and structure, and a full REST API interface, you can make better design and development decisions along the way and launch 10x faster.

Looks super useful. There is so much friction (imo a big problem to solve) for developers that work or are helping at no-code projects
Nick Selman
@joseleperez thanks for the support! Let us know what you think, when you start using it.

Hey there makers! We've created an easy way for you to get started building your next no-code app without needing to build the backend first. We've assembled or created over 30 different tables of data, added relationships, and hosted them so you can access them just like you would a real backend. You can use these tables as a great starting point during the design, development, and prototyping phase of building your next app. Here are some of the types of apps the data might help you build: - Stock Trading or Crypto Trading - Dating Apps - Restaurant Guides or Local Guides - Addressbooks, Contact Lists, or Team Directories - News or Article focused apps - Todo Lists or Productivity - Ecommerce / Shopping Apps - Music or Podcast Apps - Cars or Enthusiasts Apps - Social Apps - Books or Personal Reading List Apps Many of the tables are linked together with one-to-many or many-to-many relationships and can be queried and interacted with just like a real REST api. So for example, Stocks and Stock Holdings are linked by Users. And you can interact with all of this data in a normal way: via API that outputs JSON. You can do any HTTP method on these APIs, like GET or POST, but you can also filter, sort, slice, or paginate the data via URL parameters, just like you would with data from a real REST api. When you start building with real (or at least real-looking) data, you make better design and development choices along the way. You can use this service as a set of example API's for building apps in your favorite no-code tool (like @draftbit) or if you just need some example JSON of a certain type. The service is free and we'll be adding more data and examples over time! The data used for this service was created or gathered from creative commons and open source sources. Some of it is real data released for machine learning purposes! Let us know if you'd like other types of data / relationships to be added and we'll see what we can do. If you have any questions, please reach out! And of course, if you're looking for a no-code platform thats pro-code, check out https://draftbit.com! Thanks! Team Draftbit

This looks really useful for prototyping no or low-code apps! I could also see it decreaseing learning curve and complexity for some of our junior engineers trying to get up to speed on react native. Can focus on building out UI interactions with a solid BE.

πŸ™Œ I've been on the lookout for exactly this! Thank you! πŸ‘ ❀️ πŸ‘

Awesome @_jonlehman! Let us know what you think, and make sure to come back and leave us a Review ;)

Hey everyone! We just added a few more data sets based on your requests: β€’ /activists β€” Returns a list of American activists. β€’ /authors β€” Returns a list of African-American novelists, poets, playwrites, and essayists. β€’ /stem β€” Returns a list of African-American mathematicians, scientists, and technologists. Keep the requests coming!

Awesome guys, this is super useful, along with Draftbit!

Looks amazing! Congrats for the launch @Brian, @Nick and @Draftbit team!
Nick Selman
Thank you @chipdonglim!
Francoo
hey there, congrats on launch. What is the best example of a PWA done with draftbit ? Can you share a link ?
Nick Selman
Hey @francoolaami we (@Draftbit) should have PWA launched soon, but for right now it's native-only. Also, this is a thread for Example Data Service (which was launched as a free service by the Draftbit team to make building in *all* app-building platforms easier). Feel free to ping us at help@draftbit.com if you have questions not related to Example Data.
Nick Selman
@francoolaami not yet but this is a really good idea!

Can't wait for my Draftbit invitation & testing it together with Example Data
Nick Selman
@pawel_karniej Thanks for the support!

There is always room for more example data services. Great to see one more that seems to be really easy one to get working! :)
Nick Selman
Thanks Joonas! Really appreciate your support :)

Great product! Does everyone see the changes made through REST, or only the machine that updated it? Maybe you can require an API key (can be an user-generated UUID) and apply changes only to the specific user?
Brian Luerssen
@michal_jabczyk hey! Right now there is no authentication to make it super easy, which means that all changes are visible to all, yes. Great idea on the UUID we’ll look to add that if we can.

The rest @webflow is so good, is it's able to really dumb down all the technical banter nad make the service very very very accessible to all no-coders. @draftbit looks and sounds like it's built for engineers. Not no-coders. The @draftbit site and the images are all so jargon heavy :( I'm really looking forward to test driving it, but i fear for the learning curve and an eventual drop-off :(
Nick Selman
Hey @william_takor_m_a_, interesting observations and definitely noted! When @webflow was as new as @draftbit is (years ago) they were also very much a "power user" tool, too! Over time, we obviously hope to bring developer capabilities into the hands of no-coders. But we're very much "pro code" in that regard. Feel free to email us with questions about Draftbit. Do you have any questions about Example Data Service we can answer?
