WFH? Donut makes it easy to build trust and relationships for remote teams. Launch virtual coffees or lunches, encourage peers to meet for learning opportunities, and build important networks for new hires—all right in Slack.
As a former head of L&D, Donut made my life a lot easier by automating the types of communications and connections that would've taken me days to repeatedly compose and deploy. And that was back when groups of people were working together in an office. Given that everyone is currently remote, I can't imagine doing that kind of work without it. Thanks Team Donut! (Also, think about my Donuts Are Blind idea 😉)
📆Google Calendar Integration
Now free for everyone, our GCal integration lets Donut automatically finds overlapping times for you, and can create a calendar event for you with a simple button press in Slack. (It's also smart enough to check-in if you've met right after your scheduled event!)
🔁Daily Donuts
Previously you were limited to only getting introductions with Donut at most once a week, but we've heard lots of teams have wanted to increase that, especially as they first go remote. So now we allow you to choose exactly which days of the week you make introductions on, from every weekday to something less frequent like every Tuesday and Thursday.
💻 Remote Friendly Intro Message
We've added an alternative default introductory message that is tailored to remote audiences. It's focused on encouraging video chats, AND includes a link to tips and ideas for how to make the most out of a remote Donut.
👋hi all!
Sarah here, one of the co-founders of Donut. Our team has seen a huge influx of demand recently as companies around the world have been transitioning to WFH during this crisis. While it’s been a stressful time, it’s also been heartening to see how much people value and care about staying connected.
We know a lot of distributed teams were already relying on Donut, but we’ve gotten a ton of feedback on how we can even better enable and facilitate remote connections, especially during such uncertain times, so we put this package together as quickly as we could to help support all of the teams transitioning to remote for the first time.
Our remote package comes with new features like the option for daily donuts & a remote-friendly intro message, and has a google calendar integration built in for easier scheduling, among other things!
We’ll be here so let us know if you have any questions, or if there’s anything else we can do to help – and don’t forget to take care of each other 🙏
Also – if you’re a nonprofit, educational institution, or free Slack-based community, we’re offering the use of Donut’s paid plans free for 90 days while the COVID-19 crisis is ongoing. Just start a free trial & reach out to us at support@donut.ai and we’ll get you set up!
We've been Donut fans since day 1 and still are. We use it to coordinate "tiny teams" where people across the organization, from cross-functional roles, get together to spend time. Given this new world we live in, and even after, it's proven to be very valuable to maintain a strong and cohesive culture.
We have used Donut products for several years now at Guru and love them. It has encouraged our team to connect (in person or virtually) in really unique and thoughtful ways. It has been a great contributor to new employee experience, as they get to meet new people at the company that they may otherwise not have a reason to talk to.
Donut has been such a fun way to stay connected! At my last company, we used it to connect for in-person coffees across teams. Now I'm using it for virtual coffees in a large community of freelancers, where we might otherwise never meet. Love these new features and the support for non-profits. Thanks, crew!
This product is great - any chance Microsoft Teams is on the roadmap? For those of us on Teams, I found Icebreaker Bot by @upster. https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Note - I'm not affiliated with Icebreaker, trying to help out my fellow Teams users. (elbow 👊)
@upster@outsidedan thanks dan – and great question! we definitely hear the MS Teams users out there and are listening! it’s on our radar and will let y’all know when we have more updates. thanks for all the support & kind words!
@outsidedan@sarah3o6 I just want something like Donut in Teams 😊 Glad to hear its on your radar Sarah! Let me know if I can help with technical questions related to bringing Donut to Teams. Happy to help 👍
I love using Donut! It has allowed me to connect with my global team on a regular basis, meeting amazing people and sharing ideas. I think it's a very important tool for engaging your company during a time when some workers are by default remote.
We're use this at work for the last 3 months. It's great - I've talked to a few people that I normally don't talk to. Even though our company is under 50 people.
We love Donut at Kickstarter! We've been using it since before I joined the company a year ago and it's really helped me connect with people I wouldn't normally meet. It's also been extremely useful to stay in touch as our company has recently switched to remote during the COVID-19 office shutdown.
Would be nice if calendars could be shared with donut app so we dont have to go through the trails of finding the best meeting when it could tell us our best time for availability! Would help me network alot more instead of feeling like I have to put even more work into setting up a meeting and would feel seamless in the whole process! You've given me so many intro's and opportunities and I still can't thank you enough!
@aidan_pratt hey Aidan! We're actually making our Google Calendar integration, which automatically suggests times when we make an intro and can create a calendar event on your behalf, free as part of our Donut Remote offering! Let us know if that sounds like it will do the trick.
@aidan_pratt thanks for the feedback Aidan! if you use google calendar, we'd love to get your feedback on the integration we launched! and if not, let us know what you use!
Donut keeps me sane during this stressful time! I feel like I've met more new people this week as a remote worker than in my last month in the office :)
