Congrats on launching the product! This is multilingual, chat based travel advisor. I had a hard time when traveling a country where I don’t understand the language. Can’t wait until I have another oversea trip!
Jake
@junhochoi Thanks so much! We hope DocentPro helps to enhance travel experience for those who don't speak major languages. Can't wait to enhance your next overseas journey. Try it out and let us know if you come up with feedbacks!

Stumbled upon DocentPro on Product Hunt and found it quite interesting. This audio tour guide app seems like a nice addition for those who love traveling and exploring. The idea of having a personal guide in your pocket is appealing, and it seems like a handy tool for discovering new places. Looking forward to seeing how it enhances my travel experiences. Good job to the team for creating something that makes exploration more accessible.
Jake
@kibae_shin Thanks for your interest in DocentPro and the kind words! We're thrilled you find our 'pocket guide' concept appealing. Can't wait for you to see how it enhances your travels and receive feedback afterward.

💡 Bright idea
Very cool idea! I love that my country's capital (Budapest) is available, too. Have you thought about creating an opportunity for indie or volunteer tourist guides to create their own journey, upload it to your site and enable them to monetize somehow?
Jake
@geri_mate Happy to see you're excited about Budapest's inclusion! Indeed, we're planning on enabling local experts to contribute their narratives to DocentPro, making their insights accessible to a global audience. Ultimately, these local stories will be the heart of our platform. Stay tuned for more!

Very cool concept, especially for a nomad like me! I'm excited to download and try your app. Congratulations and best of luck. It's awesome that you did it with the support of Google! 🌍📱
Jake
@lena_pol Thanks a lot. It's good to hear that you're a nomad, which is the life style I admire. Please play around the app and give us feedback. Yes, we're so grateful that Google supports us as they bought our idea regarding the future of traveling! :)
Lena Cohen
@jake_jeong Okay, I tried your app, and it's very cute with great potential! :) However, I think the content could be improved. It provides a lot of lengthy text. While storytelling is good, for instance, I have a night market near me, and I didn't find practical information as when its open. If I still need to resort to Google or Maps for practical details, I might not use your app. I hope this feedback is helpful. 🌟
Jake
@lena_pol thank you so much for the detailed feedback. We’re planning narration length is configureable. As for the practical information, please ask via the text message. It’ll provide real time info. We’ll also add detailed page soon. Thanks again for the detailed feedback!

In the future, when you're walking somewhere, you won't have to turn on a map app anymore, maybe through wearable devices, you'll be able to just voice chat and get all the questions and information you need. DocentPro is a great product for what's to come, a great effort, and a well-designed experience that leverages ML.
Jake
@inbeombaek_toss That's precisely the vision behind DocentPro. While we still have some ways to go in fully realizing our plans, we're exctied to roll out the beta version here! Stay tuned and watch how DocentPro evolves. We're just getting started!
Kevin Moisch

I'm really looking forward to use this app. Now I won't have to do any preliminary research for weeks when I travel to new places or hire a tour guides on site. Great idea!
Jake
@andrew_lee23 Right on! Our goal is to make travel more immersive and hassle-free for travelers. We're also passionate about involving local experts to share authentic insights! Appreciate for the support!
Rick Fan
Congrats! It's useful, but I'm curious, where does the content come from? A search engine?
Jake
@rick_fan It mainly comes from wikipedia and the foundation LLM model we use. We'll keep enhancing the quality of the contents. Please stay tuned!
YooSeung Kim
Wow, it's really awesome, congrats!
Jake
@yooseung_kim Thanks, please try it out and let us know any feedback. We're all for evolving from initial users' feedback!

Congrats! The travel route feature is a game changer, especially travelers who find local guides too much of a hassle. It's simple, efficient, and perfect for independent travelers!
Jake
@slashdavid Definitely, and thank you for the kind words! We're constantly expanding our route options to ensure travelers have the most immersive and hassle-free experiences. Keep an eye out for more updates!
Duhyeon Kim
Awesome! I'm looking forward to use this app in my next vacation. I used to try to hire a guide for my tour to enrich my travels, but it was usually difficult to find someone who fit my schedule and it was usually too expensive. Additionally, it is much more difficult to find a guide in languages other than the major languages, so I often either failing to hire the proper guide or spent a lot of money when traveling with family members who do not speak English. I expect this will be a great option for me!
Jake
@ecsca Absolutely! We're considering a 'group audio' feature for families and travel groups, allowing everyone to enjoy synchronized audio narrations together. Keep an eye out for this update!

Amazing work, Jake. The future of the tourism industry is possibly unimaginable now without the use of AI. I am ready to be inspired by my personal travel guide, Docentpro✈️

Really glad to have come across your app. Came back from a trip recently and I was a bit frustrated to not be able to visit and learn about sights that were not in the guide's itinerary. A short exploration with your app and I found it to be very engaging. You've mentioned that you want to provide a more immersive guide experience, so you could maybe look into providing guide-like information. How they direct their attention to something from your current location. Something like, "if you look to your left you can see the ancient Roman pillar etc.". Because from your web walkthrough it seems that information is mostly just Wikipedia like summaries. Congrats on your launch! I can't wait to see what's ahead for you.
Jake
@sambit_bhaumik Thank you so much for your feedback and kind words! Your suggestion about providing more guide-like, directional information is great and it's actually the one we'd like to add to the explore mode(the green walking-person button) so that the traveler can be guided not only direction but also contextual contents. We aim to enhance our app to include more context-aware, engaging narratives, much like a personal tour guide pointing out interesting details around you. Thanks again for the great feedback and we're excited we're on the right direction! Please stay tuned!

Congratulations
DocentPro
@salma_khatun12 Thanks a lot!
Aris Nakos
Great idea ! I downloaded and it offers some tours the island of Rhodes in Greece. Impressive. I will be going to Japan soon and would like to preview my options. That doesn't seem possible. Any chance you can offers such "previews" that are not just GPS based?
DocentPro
@aris_nakos Please try to navigate to the city in Japan you're planning to visit. We offers plenty of places' narration in Japan. We're working on implement the list/search view so travelers can find destination with keyword search like "Kiyomizudera in Kyoto, Japan". Please stay tuned! Thanks for your feedback!
