Parse Grotesk Mono — A programming font with a bit of personality.

Parse Grotesk Mono is just the monospace font you didn’t know you wanted to spice up your IDE. Originally published as Dita Grotesk Mono, it has evolved into a far more sophisticated and classier version, with its glyphs completely reworked from the ground up.

Bored of your current monospace? Parse makes programming fun again.

The reality is, that engineers don't care about fonts enough to spend money on them.

@janosspindler Sure, not all of them. If more of them did, I'd be into this full time! 😁

Hiya, people! After months of tweaking the previous version of this font, Parse is finally ready for public consumption! Parse is lovingly crafted right down to the smallest detail— every single terminal, every single bezier curve has gone through multiple iterations and tests. I use it everywhere in my dev setup— VSCode, Hyper, my Ghost blog, my websites that display code, and the list is endless, and I love every moment of staring at the text. Take it for a spin, I’m sure you will too!

And oh— the VSCode theme you see in the screenshots is another thing I made, check it out here: https://www.producthunt.com/post...

Seems pretty unreadable on smaller font sizes. Take a look at my comparison to Consolas: The font color isn't changed, it's just that Parse Grotesk is thinner and it appears as if the color is lighter. It also looks blurry. And the number "5" looks more like a backwards "C". I think I'm gonna stick with the free, more readable, widely spread font that I've always used. Don't get me wrong, though. Parse Grotesk looks cool and lots respect for the hard work!

@dodooov Hi, Hristiyan! Thanks for taking the time to test the font! Parse comes in five weights— and the one you are testing in the screenshot is the thinnest of them all, and is meant to do just that. Consolas on the other hand, seems to be a regular(normal) weight, so it is not really an appropriate comparison here. But you are right about the design for the 5, it does look a bit weird. Thanks for the feedback, I’ll take that into consideration for the next iteration. Sorry I wasn’t able to convince you to buy a copy, I hope I am able to for the future releases! Cheers!
