We streamline the application process by focusing on skills and test results, helping developers and companies connect more efficiently without outdated résumés.
@esadik There will be plenty of opportunities in the future; I’ve included several ideas in the concept. For now, however, I want to keep the doors open and make sure people try Devpilot and – hopefully – notice a real difference compared to the traditional application process. What you have in mind sounds interesting. Let's stay in touch!
@busmark_w_nika Yes, exactly. In fact, there is already an option for companies to create a link for a job (https://devpilot.dev/job-posting...). The jobs are also displayed in the feed (currently disabled due to the limited number of full-time roles) once you log in to Devpilot.
Congratulations on the launch @karsten_biedermann! Devpilot seems like a revolutionary approach to hiring. The focus on skills over résumés is exactly what the tech industry needs to streamline the recruitment process. I am particularly intrigued by the AI recruiter feature, seems like a great way to save time for both parties! Are there any plans to expand beyond tech roles in the future?
@renchu_song Hi Richard! First of all, thank you for your kind words. I really love the AI recruiter and have put a lot of effort into this feature. Expanding beyond tech is currently not planned. I think what’s really unique about our tech industry is that we can very easily verify programming skills with software, but for other industries, it’s not that simple – especially in the creative area.
is it really 0 dollars for both parties?
do you make money on a percentage of contracts awarded?
do you have any stats on the number of people looking to hire on the site? or maybe a ratio of contractors to people seeking contractors?
do you handle payment processing?
it seems like a cool idea in general, but I would want to understand a bit more about how the money flows. also I personally looked for a hook (as a developer) for why I would want to use this (vs upwork for example).
congrats on launching! hopefully my questions dont come across as rude, im actually just curious!
@catt_marroll Don't worry, your question doesn’t come across as rude at all. I genuinely appreciate honest feedback, even if it’s critical. In fact, questions like yours have shaped Devpilot into what I envisioned over the past few months: a tool that truly makes a difference. That’s why I’ve decided to offer Devpilot completely free of charge for now. In the future, there will likely be a monthly fee for each company account. However, I want everyone to have the opportunity to explore and understand its value without any initial costs. Does that make sense to you? 😊
I recommend devpilot to anyone who wants to simplify the process of finding and hiring developers. This app offers a unique approach that focuses on real-world skills and test scores, rather than outdated resumes.
You're evaluating candidates on three criteria: your tests, language proficiency, and location.
The industry certainly needs innovative approaches like yours. Best of luck with your launch!
Did you conduct interviews with recruiters? Any interesting insights?
@michael_vavilov Thank you! Yes, I have received feedback from recruiters. They are particularly impressed with the AI recruiter, as it helps save a lot of time. Otherwise, they spend most of their time on phone calls, and initial conversations with candidates are very time-consuming. Companies also appreciate the advantage that, unlike a CV, skills are already verified ;)
@karsten_biedermann I just checked it out, an amazing product with wonderful features; if you ever need help crafting a content strategy to showcase it's value, let's connect
