Hey! I am very happy to introduce devpilot to you today. 😊 devpilot is a platform aimed at optimizing the development process through the use of AI and automated procedures. We want to give talented developers the recognition they deserve while simultaneously assisting companies and startups in finding the best professionals. Why are we doing this? 🤷‍♀️ We believe there is still immense potential in AI-assisted development. The speed at which new applications are being developed has not yet reached its peak. The field of prompt engineering will play a central role in the future. From our own experiences with artificial intelligence, we are convinced that software development will fundamentally change. With devpilot, we aim to offer both developers and companies an optimal process to facilitate collaboration. What problem are we trying to solve? 💪 We have found that a simple listing of skills is not particularly helpful for developers or for those seeking developers. A mere list says little about a person's actual competencies and experience. With the increasing use of AI, it will become even more difficult to find experienced developers who can correctly interpret model outputs as prompt engineers. Our goal is to create more transparency and develop automated processes that take into account both technical abilities (hard skills) and social competencies (soft skills). This will make the selection—or at least the pre-selection—of the right candidates simpler and more efficient. Why now? ✨ In 2023, AI models like ChatGPT have reached a level of development that makes it possible to write meaningful code with the help of AI. The next two years will shape the future of software development for the coming 10 to 20 years. We are convinced that in the future we will have to spend less time on debugging, deployment, and basic programming tasks. Instead, we will achieve an entirely new level of quality in software development through AI. But keep in mind: not everyone can simply step into a cockpit and safely fly an airplane. We trust pilots because strict processes ensure that only those with the necessary knowledge and experience are allowed into the cockpit. The same principle applies to AI in software development: only those with the right skills and understanding can truly utilize these powerful tools to achieve the best results. Let’s shape the future together!

@karsten_biedermann I think this is definitely the way the field is heading, and I find Cursor a massive leverage multiplier for myself. I'm not so sure about the "no resumes" angle though. I think even with AI assistance, having experience working in proper projects and orgs will give you value way beyond your performance in coding challenges. Congrats on the launch though, its super interesting! 🚀

@jonnymiles Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙏 I completely agree—Cursor has the potential to be a real game changer and a massive leverage multiplier. You’re absolutely right about the importance of resumes, too. The goal isn’t to replace traditional resumes entirely, but rather to enhance the process of finding the right candidates by leveraging AI. We still see great value in real-world experience from working on proper projects and within organizations, but AI can help streamline and improve the selection process. There's a lot we’re working on at devpilot, and one of the first steps is our Virtual Assistant, which is already being actively used. Of course, it’s not just hard skills, but also soft skills that are key factors when selecting developers and filling positions in companies. Both pillars are central to how we’re developing our software and AI features. I’m confident that, in the end, we’ll have a platform that provides real added value and represents a serious alternative in the market. I will do my best! 💪

This is cool! Finally, a way to find devs that can actually, you know, code. Résumés are so old-school. Show me the skills! I'm checking this out for sure.

@ihuzaifashoukat Glad to hear it! I'm looking forward to your feedback! 🙂

@hadjimina something to try for our new engineering hires? good luck on the launch!
