Hey Product Hunters, I'm happy to announce version 2.0 of Wave. I've had so much fun building my DevDojo platform (https://devdojo.com), and a lot of the features that I've learned and built have been included in Wave. I wanted an easy-to-use SAAS starter kit that I could use for future projects and I'm sure many others can find this useful as well. The project is available as an Open Source project at https://github.com/thedevdojo/wave, so be sure to give it a star and show some love. I hope you all enjoy the product and I look forward to hearing your feedback. Thanks!

@tony_lea4 This is awesome Tony. Is Paddle also supported?
Nathan Shearer
We've been using this platform for 18 months, with several iterations of front end onboard solutions. With one we have 120+ installs for users to run their own SaaS from it. We've been able to build many additional core functions easily, like referral tracking, 3rd party crm integrations, marketplace for after sales and even upsells on the checkout. We managed to get installs with forge down to 3 minutes on an app server. Super excited to see Tailwind in, we were adding this ourselves but Tony's code is always so clean. Happy day

@lifeonautosite You rock 🀘 Thanks for your support!

Does anyone know any real production SaaS website using this one? I've seen this laravel script around for 2 years already, just curious if someone have managed to build something with it. Here is the v1 https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Andrew Peacock
@ahti_laine I was building out a site with it, but didn't make it into production. Not their fault - it's based on Laravel which I find struggles with speed an awful lot (at least as far as I'm concerned - but that might be my lack of knowledge on laravel). However, Wave is clean code, easy to build on top of if you need to, and offers some great functionality. I'd recommend taking a look if you're interested in something like this.

@andrew_peacock Thank you for your reply! Yes, no any doubts about the code quality from Tony! I've been using his GeekShop laravel script in the past, and it was an awesome experience. It's just I'm very eager to see real projects with Wave in order to get some inspiration and confidence for starting to use it.

Hi @tony_lea4 congrats on this release. I cut my teeth using Your SAASADVENTURE course and now You have outdone Yourselves. I wish You and the Devdojo crew the very best. I cant wait to see what the community creates with this,
Tony Lea
@ultrasounder Thanks man! Much apreesh. I actually was going to redo the SAASAdventure course and use Wave as the starting point for the course. Hope you have a great day!
Ismael Joseph
@ultrasounder @tony_lea4 that would be nice. I had great hope SAASAdventure. A fully integrate exemple would be great. It's time to revive the adventure.

Great Job, on "https://devdojo.com/wave" "Grant user permissions based on roles, you can then assign a role to a specific plan." the same text duplicated for "Announcements" section.

Es un gran producto. Por favor automatiza la cuestion de las imagenes, que no se ven al principio, hasta que borras el storage symlink y lo vuelves a crear.

I've only worked with this kit for a while, but I love it! 2.0 was really easy to get up and moving and has done all I needed of it.
Jonathan Smith
Looks really great, does it also support Stripe? I can't see any mention of it
Tony Lea
@jonleesmith Version 1 supported Stripe and Braintree, but this new version we wanted to integrate a simpler payment platform called Paddle https://paddle.com. The integration is just so seamless and easy. Now, with a single Payment processor there will be so many cool things that we can do with the script. If you need to use stripe you might consider using Laravel Spark https://spark.laravel.com. Thanks for the comment. Hope you have a great day.
Jonathan Smith
@tony_lea4 Thanks for the reply! Yea, paddle looks cool. My project is undergoing an upgrade which already uses stripe. Is it possible to switch at all with some custom work? The original version of the product used Spark. Many thanks, and great work on the release. Impressive stuff!
Nathan Shearer
@jonleesmith @tony_lea4 we're working through the dependencies to make omnipay work with it. Harder than we initially thought. Love this platform
Tony Lea
@jonleesmith Thanks! You could definitely make the switch; however, if you have a previous billing system, you would need to have a legacy billing functionality, so all your current users will be on your Legacy Billing functionality and then new users would be on the updated Paddle billing. I can't make any guarantees, but if you wanted to join the Pro program, where you can gain access to the private Wave Repo https://devdojo.com/wave#pro, I can see about helping you out further with this :) Talk to you soon.

For non technical users, could this be a SaaS wrapper around a no-code simple application (business logic made in no code)?
Tony Lea
@mattmg83 In order to use Wave, you would probably need to have some technical skills, but this could be built into a no-code solution for simple applications. Depends on how you want it to work, but you could to totally build out a no-code version of Wave ;) Let me know if that helps and thanks for the comment.
Glen Creaser
This looks amazing! Congrats on the launch.

@glen_creaser Thanks Glen! Really appreciate it!
