Speaking for myself - I'm not a big fan of Tailwind, so we definitely will continue to use Bootstrap in Startup. Especially since they deprecated jQuery dependency and also Bootstrap is highly customizable via SCSS.
It's a nice thing we can create the designs. So how many designs have you prepared? Because in this case I can save extra time.
Always welcome to a new version, but this seems a step back. The components don't have the same variety or polish as Start-up 4. Not a big fan of the illustrations and the font choices in the Presets are not at a good standard. There doesn't seem to be as much components either. eg SU4 had 22 Headers and SU5 has 10. I've been using SU for 3 years, but I think I'll stick to V4 for now.
I think a valuable direction Designmodo could take would be to offer a wireframe preset for rapid UX work.

That's true - the new version contains fewer blocks than v.4. That happens because we re-built all designs from scratch, and you may also notice a lot of really similar blocks in v4 - we've tried to make each block unique in the current version.
The new version is faster, lightweight, Google Page Speed optimized. Yes, it's simpler now, but we will add more features in further updates.
The main feature is a much more flexible editor - you could not really change the layout in v4 (you can only edit it), but now you can build your own blocks, add elements.
Thank you for using our product! If you decide to use an old v4 - no problem, it will be available too.

Personally, I prefer the photos and UI screenshots in the web design instead of illustrations. The illustrations should be chosen and used very carefully. The illustration should generate emotions for a UI; it should be an addition to the landing page message. Startup 5 is a design and code generator; that is why we can't predict which project the client will create to offer a perfect visual for this design. Illustrations could be easily changed by photos, graphics, statistics, UI screenshots etc...
Our direction is to make you easily create the interface with a large possibility to customize your layout; that is why Startup 5 has a new edit functionality, customization options, and more to come. Now our focus is to offer more customizations options and integrations. I hope you will try the upcoming updates and you'll change your opinion; we're working to achieve this :D
I have used Startup for many years. The generated websites are lightweight and look very beautiful. Version 5 looks good; I hope to see more integrations soon.

The closest one should be an integration with Static.app service and will allow you to publish your website in one click 😎
Startup 5 is a quick and easy solution for creating without code. As a designer with a background in print design, this tool makes my life so much easier.
All the premade block do exactly what you need and are easy to work with. Plus, there’s everything you could want.
Startup 5 also allows for designers to be super agile and build fast. As a free tool, it’s hard to beat the function and ease of use from Startup. 5 stars!! Highly recommended!!
