Huge Dashlane fan, have got all my family & friends onto it too. Makes buying things online dangerously fast though...
Dashlane staff - is there any plan to implement support for Chrome on iOS? That'd be my #1 request, and secondarily a custom colour picker for credit/debit cards so you could match them perfectly (my cards don't match the preset options)
Hey @marty. You will be happy to hear that we are currently working with Google to add Dashlane to Chrome on iOS. Hopefully this will make it in the next Chrome update.
Great suggestion about the color picker for cards, let me check how we can make that work.
I'm a 1Password user myself but whenever someone needs a rocksolid free password manager I usually advise Dashlane. It's a great app. And with version 4 it finally gets the much needed UI overhaul. Besides that it has a feature not yet in 1Password: the automatic password changer. Cool stuff!
I recently switched from LastPass to Dashlane and I'm already back to Lastpass. I found the chrome extension for Dashlane to be completely unusable. It would auto fill random forms on sites, would save stuff like my First and Last Name as the username, and I could find no way to disable specific features such as auto login. Really overall had a terrible experience with the product. I paid up front for 3 years so maybe I'll give this new version a try. However my experience was pretty sub-par a couple weeks ago.
Been a Dashlane user since before 1.0 (before they even charged) and I've loved how far it's come since those early days. It was buggy at the start but now a few years later I love it for its stability, security and how fast it works. I know everyone raves about 1Password and LastPass but Dashlane is right there with them. Plus the Password Changer is hella great.
My question to the team is if you will ever integrate 2-factor authentication when using the Safari Extension on iOS. I swear by 2FA but had to disable it in DashLane in order to use it when in Safari. My master password would never work in those instances and I was told after multiple requests that it's a known issue. Aside from this issue, it's a great product.
Also, any plans to incorporate 2FA code generation like 1Password does? This would GREATLY alleviate my reliance on Authy.
@aaroncrocco We will. We had to disable it for security reason but we found a solution. Just need to implement it now :).
We would love to incorporate 2FA to our product but I cannot disclose anything on this at the moment.
Anyway, thanks for bearing with us since Dashlane 1 :)
I am so glad you guys got this update out! Absolutely love Dashlane - premium subscriber here! I only have one thing - the touch Id unlock takes a few seconds as there is a delay to show the dialog that says to unlock with touch Id. Is that something you are looking into?
@chakkaradeep This is a hard issue as it touches decryption of data and is part of what makes your data secure. However, we are working on it and have good leads on how to improve it. Expect improvements on this in Q2 this year.
I am really enjoying using this service so far! Everything was straight forward, clean, convenient and comforting! Got two question so far if you guys don't mind answering, 1. Is it possible to lock out the app/logout on the mac when I click Quit Application or when I do not use it for 15 min or so (I tried the preferences in setting and it seems to not do anything, or i didnt set it well... 2. I have 30 day trial, but on the mobile app and mac app it keeps popping up asking me to upgrade to premium which is annoying, perhaps have it show up when trial is about to end? I am considering the premium plan atm, do you guys have any promo codes for us?
Thanks @Ton for hunting us. Dashlane 4 is a very special release for us. We launched a crazy number of new features in the last year, so we decided to step back a bit and improve the core application based on users' feedback. We also took this occasion to improve the design a lot to get a high-quality, consistent experience on every platform. I wrote an article getting into more details of the release if you are interested: https://medium.com/@alexisfogel/....
And if you guys have any question I am here to answer them :)
I've switched from LastPass to Dashlane and I am absolutely in love. The design, the ease of use, the features, the speed. It's all spot on. Nice work guys!
Awesome - been a faithful user from almost day one.
I was wondering if the new Mac app has solved the memory leak issue ? (or is it the chrome plugin ?)
Was just about to download and install, then realised your "all your devices" doesn't appear to extend to Windows Phone. Will have to pass but keep up the good work!
Dashlane is the key to my device logins. It is extremely efficient to use. Autofill is great but when you use different types of browser and device, you can get lost without certain password. It's easy to use Dashlane and not scramble around looking for the right password to the right account
How does Dashlane compare to LastPass, especially after their recent interface redesign (LastPass v4)? It was worth switching a year ago, but is it worth switching now?
Huge fan here too, been using Dashlane for years and made quite some people switch. Keep up the good work - I have to say that the Chrome Extension still needs some love compared to LastPass/1Password, but otherwise, that's a kickass product.
I've been a huge fan of Dashlane and the attention to design details definitely keeps me loving the product. Some areas I see for improvement are 1) Consistently heavy resource consumption by the Chrome plugin on Windows 2) More 2FA options 3) Ability to auto-fill passwords in desktop applications 4) Android Chrome browser auto-fill option.
