Pro tip: use a hashtag to pull in a random GIF. E.g. #dance, #hello, #garybusey @jexe I'd love to open a public Product Hunt chat room. Is this doable and if not do you have plans to support this?

@rrhoover that would be awesome. Currently we don't have public rooms, you'd have to invite people in - but love the idea. We have some nascent ideas about this - I'll be sure to keep you in the loop if you're willing to be a guinea pig at some point ;-)

Hey there! Cofounder here. This is a public beta of web, but we're eager to get it out to the PH community for early feedback. If you don't have an account yet, you can sign up via the iOS app (http://dasher.im/app). We built the web-based version of our chat because we sit at our desks and chat all day, and hated having to tap on a tiny screen when we didn't have to. :) Also, it's a far better experience for sharing what I'm reading and watching. Would love to hear what you think!

A little more on what you can do on Dasher: - automatically inject a gif associated on any #hashtag you type. Results are wonderful or terrible. It's a worthy gamble. - pasting links will embed media from the site you're linking directly into the chat - edit and delete messages! The changes you make will be synchronized to everyone else in the conversation. :)
