Relax — Mutes your internal speakers when disconnecting headphones 🎧
Disconnecting your headphones or speakers from your Mac automatically selects the Internal Speakers. Any sound that was playing before is now shared with everyone around you. 🙀
Your Cyndi Lauper playlist? Yea, that's no longer a secret.
Relax monitors your audio output and takes action when it notices you switch back to your internal speakers.

I'm pretty stoked to tell you about my latest utility. It's been a while since I launched something new. 🚀
The idea behind Relax started when I found out that the stress of accidentally playing my music, or YouTube video out loud isn't just my personal angst. Why bother someone with my Synthy Hits of the 80's playlist, right? I wear headphones for a reason. Also, @dionsegijn told me to do it.
The core functionality of Relax isn't particularly outstanding. I think the additional scripts Relax can run when it mutes the audio are what make it interesting. Currently it supports pausing Spotify and YouTube playing in Chrome. The last one is experimental. 🧪
Relax is free, with a Tip Jar in the app. I've never tried adding a Tip Jar before, but I hope it enables me to release more utilities for free. If you enjoy using Relax, pick one of the options and help me work on this further. 👊
I'm also considering making it open source and writing a few technical articles about how I use XPC to separate the UI from the 'monitoring part', how to implement a (non-Mac App Store) Tip Jar etc. 💡

Try people walking out of range with their AirPods in and leaving the rest us with their Skrillex. That's the #1 reason this app is free, no excuse not to install it. 😉
The name fits perfectly because every time I am blasting the most hood rap shit I accidentally spin my chair and rip the headphones out and panic to grab the speaker controller. Now I can relax ;)
