I decided to work on Cypris after working in r&d & open innovation at Exelon. If you're a VC & want to know which startups are in your field, you can use Pitchbook or Crunchbase. But if you're in r&d and you want to know which technologies are in your vertical, you have to use a lawyer or complex IP software... that lag in data access is disruptive to innovation. Our goal is to make the currently inaccessible patent dataset, actionable & informative for all.
