Echoing what Robin said with uploading our own icons. Maybe we could select an icon from all our emojis?
It would be nice to not be forced to use the hyphen before the author and be able to turn it off or just let that be a true text box with whatever I type without a hyphen.

@lucky_jeffman I just realized that the dev icons limit it to only technical blogs. emojis can open doors for everything blogging.

Can I customize the icon? For example, upload my own picture or get from a URL or get from my Twitter/Facebook/Linkedin profile.
