UI looks classy!

Hi @evivz, thanks for your feedback :)
Manish Malik
Interesting. Who is the target audience? Is it people who are trying to install software for the first time, or is it people looking to keep their existing software up to date?
Tim Richardson
Hi @dotmanish, it's for anyone really, we think websites developers and agencies, to see what the latest versions of CMS's or the latest web frameworks are. But also anyone who just wants to quickly check what they're latest browser, CMS, OS etc.
Simon Bromberg

I have tried to figure out what the latest version of things is all the time, this will be a really useful quick reference rather than trying to figure it out for myself by Googling around.

Pros:

Slick UI, quick and simple, great idea

Cons:

Can't think of anything

Simon
Launching soon!

Will be really useful when it has some personalisation features :)

Pros:

Great design, great idea

Cons:

Missing a way to favourite the things you're most interested in

This site is so helpful - i can take a few minutes and just find updates for stuff I use. Thanks. (especially for a non-developer like me)

@tim_l_richardson @theleonblair Great Design. What technologies and frameworks are used to create this web app?
Tim Richardson
Hi @ishu3101 we've designed the website in Sketch, built it on CraftCMS, we've used Ruby as part of the background automation, and Vue.JS for the front end.

Nice idea, how do you guys keep tab on latest versions, I mean have you automated this or doing it manually
Tim Richardson
Hi @tahaqadri, at the moment a lot of it is automated, there are some we're currently updating manually, but we will be automating all of it.
Cristian
Has a lot of potential, but why would I use this if it's not 100% accurate. I would only use this if it always returns the latest version and is never wrong, otherwise I would have doubts using it.
Siddharth Das
is the data updated manually? Nodejs 8.5 isn't reflecting.
Tim Richardson
Hi @subsidd, some of it is automated, some of it is updated manually, having just got it off the ground, we're still getting some of it sorted and in place, but we will be automating all of it.
Michelle Grant
I think this is pretty good idea. In love with your features and design ;)
Alexander Lichter
Neat design! But I'm not sure about how fast you update the versions on the website. Laravel for example is currently on version 5.5.3 (see https://packagist.org/packages/l...)
Tim Richardson
Hi @thealexlichter, good spot, we were pulling the data from the main Laravel repo, rather than the Framework's, we've now updated it :)
Tim Richardson
Hi Product Hunters, Hope you're all doing well, just released a new web app that tells you the latest version of (pretty much) anything development related. We've created a central spot where you can find the latest versions of the most popular CMS's, operating systems, web frameworks, databases, programming languages, web browsers, with more coming soon. We've found it useful to have a central referral spot for version updates, rather than searching multiple websites to find what we need. Would love to hear your feedback, is this something you'd use? What else would you want to see added to it?
Srikanth Noah
Good idea :) How about a "Download" button beside "View Updates".So Visitor will feel good?
Cris Firmo

I liked the concept, but I think it would be good if it had more software inside (or a way, even paid so users can feed the system with the app they use and the system checks when new versions are around and if possible to connect to github to check updates for repos the user has downloaded some app), and why not push notifications or a desktop (windows, mac and linux) app to check if our software is up-dated

But for now, I like everything, specially that we can filter stuff and search inside for things the site is already listing

Tks

Pros:

Everything good

Cons:

No cons, but 2 suggestions

Cons:

No Desktop App
