Hi PH, Today we are releasing Blocks, our new data infused components for building Cosmic powered websites and apps. What are Blocks? Blocks are pre-built website components that you can drop into your project. Choose from landing pages, blogs, image galleries, product pages, and more. With Blocks you can build these features with Cosmic faster than ever. Benefits of using Blocks Blocks are built to give you a head start with features that are: - Performance optimized - Draft preview ready - Mobile responsive - Localization ready - Dark mode ready - Customizable - Accessible - Type safe Why Blocks? It's our goal to empower your team to create the best websites and apps. Blocks can be considered the missing head to connect with the Cosmic headless CMS. It is our opinionated component frontend for building highly scalable and performant web applications built with tools we think offer a development experience and performance advantage (React Server Components, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS). Getting started To get started, go to the Blocks website or install the Blocks extension in the Cosmic dashboard to begin using Blocks. Let us know what you think in the comments. - Tony

@tonyspiro hey! this looks great! I am not a Cosmic customer but would love to see this in other headless CMS. We are launching our product today too, good luck!

@guillegette Thank you!

The operation went smoothly, which is great, and it would be even better if AI could be used to simplify the process! Good luck!

@rick_fan Glad to hear it!

I've never heard of Cosmic before today but I always love seeing new component libraries. Wishing you the best of luck on this launch, as it seems like it's targeted specifically toward Cosmic users only.

Congrats to Tony and the team!

Hello. Congratulations on the launch. Can you explain how the interaction with external data sources is implemented - for example, is it possible to load weather forecasts through your platform? Is it done through blocks, or is manual intervention required?
Zayan Riyaz
@tonyspiro Congrats on the launch! Have a question, How did you determine the specific types of pre-built website components (Blocks) to include in your product, and can you elaborate on the customization options available for users to tailor these components to their unique project requirements, ensuring a seamless integration into their websites?
Tony Spiro
@zayan_riyaz Thanks, we decided on common website features that we saw a lot of our customer were already building from scratch. After installing the Blocks, you can go into the code and customize them to suit your needs by changing styling, layout, etc.

@tonyspiro @zayan_riyaz With Blocks, we're adding the code directly to your codebase in an isolated folder (meaning it won't affect your existing setup), instead of installing it as a dependency/package. Once you have the code for the components, you're free to customize it however you like! The data integration with Cosmic will keep working seamlessly and the existing UI will offer you a solid building ground for whatever you'd like to build on top of it.

Haven’t had a chance to dig into this yet but just a bit of feedback—from scanning through the product photos I can’t really get a sense of what this is. The description seemed promising but the photos are so vague that I have no reason to double click.

@valsk Thanks for the feedback!
