With Copilot, service businesses can set up a client portal, enabling clients to send messages, make payments, upload files, sign contracts, submit forms, and access custom apps — all from one unified place.
Hi everyone. Marlon here, cofounder and CEO at Copilot.
We're really excited to be back on ProductHunt, launching the 1.0 version of the product we've been working on for over two years!
Prior to Copilot, we worked at a few startups and as a result were the clients of various types of services business — marketing agencies, law firms, accounting firms, etc. Across the board we found that the user experience for us as clients was fragmented. With Copilot, we want to give service businesses a way to provide their clients a branded, unified, and delightful experience on web and mobile.
We do that by making it really easy to set up a client portal, enabling clients to send messages, make payments, upload files, sign contracts, submit forms, and access custom apps — all from one unified place.
We'd love to hear any feedback from the PH community! My team and I will be online all day to answer questions.
@marlonmisra Thanks for sharing Copilot, sounds like a great solution for service businesses. Excited to see its impact in the market and looking forward to team's engagement on ProductHunt.
Looks IMMENSELY useful in helping to simplify and streamline all the admin bits of a client engagement!
Would love to see integrations with task or PM apps (Clickup, Trello, etc). 🚀 e.g. Create a task in a PM board, that task then gets synced to Copilot and can be marked as billable + invoiced.
@saasdesigner Thanks for the feedback Bren. Completely agree that having integration are super important. With this release we've enhanced the ability to bring other apps into your portal[1]. A big focus in 2023 for us is investing in our platform and providing a powerful API so that businesses can more seamlessly integrate actions from other apps to create workflows like the one you mentioned!

@marlonmisra, congrats on the launch! I have like a million questions :)
We use HubSpot, Crisp (used to use Intercom), GoogleWorkspace, FeedBear and some other tools for CX. How do you bring them all together? Is it possible to do a demo? Cheers ved at leaddelta dot com
Hey @marlonmisra and team, congratulations on the launch! The product looks great - have signed up for a trial and scheduled demo as well. Love the simplicity and ease of navigation on the website.
Congrats on the launch co-pilot team - I've never seen anything like this and it seems incredibly helpful! For client collaboration, do you have any whiteboarding/other collaboration features?
@paul_vanzandt Yes we do! It's not listed on our Partner Apps page (https://www.copilot.com/apps) but a very popular collaboration app our customers use is Miro! You simply embed a board for each client and then you can collaborate.
@marlonmisra Thanks for the info - I appreciate it! If you ever want to step away from third-party whiteboarding and pursue an in-house solution, we offer a slick white-labeled whiteboard solution to engage collaboration & task management in the same workflow. Best of luck with your growth!

Congrats @marlonmisra ! What's been the best acquisition channel so far for y'all? Congrats on the launch and the raise, can't wait to see what is next
@dan__cleary appreciate it Dan! We are focused now on organic growth, so mostly referrals and SEO. One specific channel that is working really well for us is G2 and we wish we asked customers for reviews there earlier in our company journey. G2 is a channel that works well but only if you cross a certain number of reviews.
Congrats on the launch! We're Portal users! One of the pieces of feedback we've gotten from our team is that it'd be great if there was a way to automatically share keys when a new client signs up. @brenna_c_curran
I am obsessed with Copilot and have been using it to run my pitch deck agency, Trulytell. I highly recommend if you're looking to streamline collaboration and efficiency. Congrats @marlonmisra and team!
Looks good, and at first I thought it would be a good replacement for apps like spp and upmind, but having looked a bit closely, it doesnt look like there is a way for someone to sign up and pay before you have created an invoice? Ie, have sign up/checkout pages for a service you can embed on a site or link to?
I also noticed you are charging transaction fees also, whereas most dont. Do you intend to allow connecting own payment gateways, or do you intend insisting on your payment processing?
@populo Great points!
For some context first, we decided to built our own payments stack because it was the only way to build something truly white-label for our customers (think in-product notifications and email notifications for your clients that are consistent with all other notifications they can receive) and also because it unlocked some features that our customers really like (for example the ability to pass on payment fees to client users).
That said, we do eventually plan to let you add your own payment gateway (maybe Q3 this year). Some features will just be locked if you choose to go that path.
The use case of letting someone sign up and pay before being invited is really popular. Today one workaround we see a lot is to use another payment system and then trigger a client invite in Copilot via Zapier or API once payment is received. Next quarter we'll expose our Billing API so that you can also do the entire end-to-end flow just in Copilot.
Hope that helps!
@nilay1101 thank Nilay! Let us know if you have any feedback. With this launch we introduced the Starter Plan, which specifically was intended for freelancers. Would love to better be able to support freelancers!
@bryant_lee Hi Bryant! Thanks for your feedback ❤️ You can have one main brand per subscription, but you can also turn on Client Branding to allow clients to see their own company logo in the client experience!
@tom_garcy it's a great question. We have a feature called Partner Apps that lets you embed project tracking dashboards from Airtable, ClickUp, Google Sheets, etc. We see many companies use the feature to show clients what tasks are outstanding. Now the caveat is that some of these products allow edits in embedded views and some don't so, they don't all work out of the box in a way where the client can check things off. More on this feature here: https://www.copilot.com/apps
We also have full support for Custom Apps. And what we've also seen here is startups building their own to-do apps and then embedding those. More on that in our API docs (https://docs.copilot.com/referen...) and our Custom Apps docs (https://docs.copilot.com/page/cu...).
@tom_garcy Hey Tom! As @marlonmisra mentioned, we don't have this built in, but Copilot is sooo extensible. I've built a prototype Custom App that integrates with Todoist- you can display tasks directly in Copilot, mark them as completed, add new tasks, etc... and it will seamlessly sync with your Todoist account 😊 Soon we will have apps like this available to the public! We will share template repos on Github and feature them on our site in the coming months 💫
So impressed by what this team built. Extremely thoughtful product design all the way through makes Copilot a true pleasure to use that you almost wish it wasn't so darn efficient and streamlined so you can spend more time "using" it.
If you include recurring payments, it will be a great value for SaaS software companies. Do you intend to include bitcoin payment in your billing? @marlonmisra
Congratulations on the launch! First impression is outstanding! As a web designer who is growing her team of designers, I am looking for a solution that serves both my clients as well as project management with my team. Does Copilot solve this? If so, how?
@ravi_chothani Thanks!! We believe it's really important to give businesses the flexibility to showcase their brand while making it very simple. In our latest release we added a whole new set of customization options that lets you specify more granular colors, change the font, and use a variety of images for your icon, logo, and login page.
What sort of stuff can I embed? I was working on my neuroscience capstone that we’re now trying to push to market. If I can surface my product to my clients within this product, then y’all won me over..
