It was sometime in early 2014 while I was sitting at the dinner table with a few friends and family. The dishes had been cleared and we were all discussing the latest in sports, news and pop culture. It was then that I realized that everyone had their phone sitting in front of them on the table with a blank black screen. With the latest advancements in speech recognition and image search technologies I thought to myself “We should be seeing images on our phones about what we’re talking about.”. And so it began. Soon after I partnered with North Vancouver developer Relentless Technology to flesh out my vision of a conversation visualizer. More than ten years later and countless hours of research and development, ConverStory is now available for Android devices from the Google Play Store and coming soon for iOS and iPhones. There are many more facets to the app now including real-time captions with translation into over 50 languages. It's also a great tool for all kinds of speech therapy purposes as well as for the hard of hearing. You can cast it to your big screen TV to make it even more social.
