Very cool. A free video every month is a good way to check-in on your site and make incremental improvements. Then every once in a while order a bunch of videos to fast-track testing of something new. As an Amazon-seller, I think it's really a huge untapped area to see tests strictly designed for Amazon – would love to see more of that.
@kmanderuk The Amazon testing is something about a third of my ecommerce customer interviews asked me for! So I built a test flow for it and a bunch of templates for (in our paid area). It pays to listen to customers! :D
In Scout, the flow is a little weird for Amazon tests at the moment (as it uses the test flow that all Scout tests run off of and AMZ tests need something a little modified), but I'll fix that soon.
@quinnzeda It might even be Amazon-sellers are big enough of a segment for there to be a more specific/branded offering. I've received a Scout and a regular video now and there is a slight issue of the user being a bit too usability-minded (any content of how Amazon could be more usable is obviously redundant). But really the onus is the requester to make their own template that sets the stage beter.
On a different side note, I also signed up as a tester for a bit of fun. Really easy to jump into tasks. I saw that you had the regular/pro/etc user types – there might be a gap to also add "Elite" (or some such) – where you could also request to get videos from actual usability experts that are also in your platform. A bit like Clarity.fm, but within your ecosystem.
@kmanderuk Yes, this is the issue I'm referring to with the Scout templates for Amazon right now... because it doesn't have the "Amazon" flow which removes the usability stuff for sites and preps testers for it (testers focus on the listing - not the actual usability of the Amazon page).
I do think that there is something to the Amazon Listings! I've got a landing page for it, but it's fairly basic right now. We just launched Amazon testing a few weeks ago.
Nice to see you as a tester as well - We're working on making the tester onboarding flow easier in the coming months as well as updating tester profiles to build up various premium audiences. So something like that will be coming.
Hey hunters! I’m Quinn, founder of Conversion Crimes.
I am stoked to share our new tool, ‘Scout’ where you can get one usability test result using our Scout templates for FREE - every month!
After being frustrated with the expensive and complex user testing solutions for my small business clients, I started Conversion Crimes to make usability testing accessible to any business.
Our mission is to make the web more user friendly and our launch of Scout (beta) is one giant step forward towards that goal.
Scout is:
🤑 Free forever: You can get one free test result per month using our Scout templates.
📄 9 Templates: From testing Amazon Listings to your free trial onboarding flow to your paid media ad funnel, we’ve got 9 Scout templates you can use for free.
⏱ Quick and Easy: Sign up and launch a test in less than 60 seconds!
Once you launch a test one of our users will record their screen, head over to your site, and share with you their experience in a screen recorded video! Get actionable insights and update your site to improve user experience and conversions.
We’re excited to receive feedback from you and make this tool even better!

P.S. If you want more test results or to try our paid services, you can use the code: “PRODUCTHUNT” to get 20% off this week.
@quinnzeda Congrats!!! This is so awesome and going to be a huge help for agencies like myself, that constantly need to connect with our audience to sell better with our site - this tool will really help with that.
I used the paid Conversion Crimes on a site we were doing a UX make over on. The users gave lots of detailed feedback on the "before" version of the site, which helped guide the direction on improvements we made.
Now there is a free version in Scout, I am going to use on more sites!
Usability tests are really the 20% of work that creates 80% of results. I’ve used one of these in the past to show my clients how poorly their funnel is. Rather than just doing a small tweak, like changing a button color, we reworked the entire messaging and increased our click through rate by 20%! Can’t believe these are FREE now!!
I used Scout about a month ago for my startup’s website. I loved how fast and efficient it was to get some feedback. Having this info on video was really helpful too. This reminds me…I can run another test!
Quinn is the best. (Hi ?makers !) I've been following this project for a long time and she's put some great intentionality and thought into the product offering. This Scout product is a great way to dip your toe in, and then the testing packages beyond are affordable. And the output is thorough and client-ready. Super impressive, we'll be using CC a _lot_.
Amazing product by an amazing founder. If you're doing any sort of optimization, user research is a critical component. Can't go wrong with ConversionCrimes!
If you're not aware of what regular users think of your product/service then you're driving visually impaired. Take Quinn up on her offer and try out Scout, you really won't be disappointed. Do it!
@ian_voest haha I love that driving visually impaired! Even after working in UX for over a decade I'm still 🤦🏼♀️'ing and shocked at how people misuse and misinterpret what I built.
Awesome product Quinn! Thank you so much for building it 🙏 You won't believe how hard it is to convince a customer on a tough budget that usability testing is not the best candidate for cutting costs 😅 With at least 1 free test a month it would be much esier to prove the point 🤩
@anab Thanks Ana! It took way longer than anticipated to launch, but I'm happy it's finally here! I'm hoping that more people can see the value of testing with the barrier to entry so low! Look forward to your feedback!
