Hey there,
My name is Gus and I'm a co-founder at Common Surface! Very excited about today (it has been a long time coming!) and unbelievably grateful to @chrismessina, we love the work you do and are honoured to have been hunted by you!
At the start of the pandemic, my co-founder and I had been working in jobs that switched from in-person to remote. As we grappled with remote work, we realised there were aspects of it that we enjoyed but we weren't ready to live fully remote lives for the rest of our lives. We were excited about the prospect of hybrid working but for us, there were a handful of problems and solutions which empowered us to try and make something special. I’ll leave @sgtucker to elaborate more but for me, I was particularly interested in the working patterns element of it.
Finding a solution that enabled fairness throughout companies - no one being left out by a first-come, first-serve system - and finding a solution that minimised hybrid meetings and unnecessary zoom calls were key.
