With spotlight-style search, pro shortcuts, and contextual editor actions, CommandBar for WordPress boosts productivity for WordPress pros, agencies, and content teams who live in WordPress Admin and the Gutenberg editor.
Thanks @chrismessina for the hunt! We’re excited to launch CommandBar for WordPress on Product Hunt.
For those new to CommandBar, our goal is to make software easier and faster to use. Today we do this by allowing product teams to embed a configurable widget into their UI that provides onboarding and discovery nudges, a delightfully fast universal searchbar, and a command palette for executing actions.
We’ve focused on custom-built apps so far, but we’ve started to look at other tools in which we can make UX better. That search led us to today’s launch: CommandBar for WordPress.
CommandBar for WordPress adds shortcuts and quick actions to the WordPress Admin and Gutenberg editor. Key features include:
- Spotlight-style Search: Instant search for anything on your WordPress site, like posts, images, or even products and orders; you can make navigating WordPress Admin addictively fast.
- Pro Shortcuts: All key actions in WordPress Admin, such as creating posts, are just a couple of clicks away. Or, with custom keyboard shortcuts, you can assign a shortcut to any common task, like inserting an image or changing a post’s category.
- Contextual Editor Actions: CommandBar for WordPress also works within the Gutenberg editor. Switch between recently edited items, and launch contextually-relevant actions quickly while editing a page or post.
It’s free! To try it out, install the CommandBar for WordPress plugin from the WordPress plugin directory. Let us know what you think in the comments.
@cristinaibunea Great question! Nothing is set in stone right now. Selfishly, I'd love to see a better cmd+k experience in Notion. I live in Notion and being able to navigate and create faster and more easily would be great. But we'd love to hear from others about what they'd like to see, too.
When we first started looking into working on Wordpress we were shocked at how widespread it is. If you're trying to make the internet easier to use then you can't ignore Wordpress -- it underpins 43% of all sites and market share *growing* by 2-4% every year.
Awesome launch and h/t @jared_luxenberg1 for building the initial version during a hack week and then seeing it across the finish line.
@sulemanelahi2 The WordPress plugin doesn't need a CommandBar account to work, so you can use it for free. Regardless, CommandBar also has a free plan - it's free up to 1000 MAUs as detailed on https://www.commandbar.com/pricing, so either way you're good to go.
