Hello PH 👋,
I made Cloaked because I couldn’t find an easy tool that could blur faces and text in images, and that worked the way I needed it to.
There are plenty of drawing tools that you can used to manually select parts of images and blur them, but I found them time consuming to use and even frustrating at times.
Cloaked started as a personal tool to simply share screenshots of apps I was working on that happened to contain real data.
With real data I was better able to show the capabilities of the UI, but I didn’t necessarily want to publish the data or share it with others.
As a parent of two young kids, I also found social media tricky when sharing photos that could potentially be analysed and faces extracted.
Many parents want to protect the digital privacy of their children and I found there was no quick and easy way to blur faces before posting photos. With Cloaked it takes a few seconds and you can paste photos directly into social media posts.

@anuoluwapo_abraham Hi 👋, the iOS app is in active development and almost ready. I'm hoping to have it in the App Store within 2-3 weeks. Windows and Android apps are also planned after iOS is released.
