I'm a massive fan of this. After seeing it blow up on Twitter as only a concept, so excited to see this officially launch and get the chance to play around with it!
Big congrats to @cyrildiagne on the launch!
This is awesome. I assume you can do people too. Idea: multi-frame capture and save/paste it as a GIF. Could be cool to make GIF stickers of actions/reactions.
@davepoly Oh yes please make stickers to messaging apps possible with this. So far to create stickers one needs to cut out a bunch manually. This will save tons of time
This is honestly insane. Jaw dropping and wonderful. I thought there is no freaking way it actually works that good. Welp it does. I just wish you had those desktop commands for windows. As of now I can only use mobile to collect things. AND I believe that you should be able to scale the capture on the mobile device, for the captures that take up the full zone. Cloud viewing in mobile should also have a mask toggle?
Looking forward to following this and using it in the future!
@kaiser_design Hi Ben! The screenshot commands also work on Windows! But the tray icon is currently black (even if you are in Dark Mode which makes is really difficult to find). But we'll fix this in the next update!
And thanks for the suggestions, they make a lot of sense!
This is ABSOLUTELY amazing and magical in all the best ways!! I tried it out Immediately and was amazed!! But... maybe I'm missing something... how do I 'paste'? I thought the desktop app would have a canvas you can drop/paste the items onto just like in the vid, but there seems to be a no ability to do that?
I see the option to copy to clipboard and download what has been clipped, and just that alone is absolutely amazing, but I'd love to get the full experience before I commit to a subscription.
Thanks for inventing this amazing wizardry nonetheless!!
@elijah_claude Hi, for now you can drop directly in Photoshop (using the ClipDrop plugin for Photoshop) otherwise you can simply drag & drop the result directly in any other application (such as Figma, Powerpoint, Canva, Illustrator..etc)
The iOS app works great – amazing work!
I don't really understand why you need a companion app for desktop. Can't you just use the shared clipboard between iPhone and Mac? (and I assume a similar feature exists for Windows?)
@cyrildiagne are you planning on adding 3D scanning functionality? It would be amazing to scan real-world objects and instantly get a high quality 3D model.
Hey! This seems so cool and useful! Congrats!
I wanted to give it a go, downloaded the iOS app then the Mac App, however the MacOS app keeps telling me to give screen capturing permissions, however in the settings clip drop doesn't show, it doesn't seem to be requesting it.
@deivuh You might be able to manually give the app permissions (I had to do so) – System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy → Screen Recording, either check the box for Clip drop, or hit the + plus button and add it, then relaunch the app
I think you need to specify the country list to support at start, so people with other countries don't waste their time untill it's available, I downloaded desktop version and when I try to install on Android it's say your country is not supported 🤦♀️
ClipDrop addict here, Help please ! hahaha
the number of affected designers is going to be huge.
The ability to recover the original image (before extraction) and to import editable masks in PS makes it a killer tool
Loved the video, very detail oriented! Will really help bring on more users, as this feature is mind-blowing!
You can even make this into small snippets for your online marketing campaigns on social media. Good luck!
Wow, blow my mind! I can imagine that a lot of products would use this as a basic tool embedded into their system, just like tweeter and facebook as basic tools.
This is amazing. It's one of those products that seems like it might not work as advertised, but just tested it in 1 min and it works almost perfectly!
Truly amazing. Didn't succeed in transforming a printscreen from google images into an clip though. Any hints ? (in Windows, the icon clipdrop doesn't show. )
I like it. However it just doesn't work the same on a Mac as the video shows. It places the pic/object on the screen as a 'clipboard' file instead of a standalone pic/object. I'll have to try it on a PC to experience the real objective.
@gerard_newsom Not quite exactly ;) Mac & PC offer the same functionalities! Please feel free to reach out to support@clipdrop.co if you have any issue!
