Hmm. $59.95 per 20 refills per month. The smaller one fits 40 and the bigger one 60. $60 of fresh produce a month... without the variation and such of a CSA. I mean, it's pretty, but, as is my critique of the other Click and Grow product (of which, admittedly, I have two), there's a pricing premium that feels painful.

@shloky Hi! We definitely offer variation to the Wall Farm owners: They can specifically choose which plants will make up those 20 refills and we have new plants coming out on a monthly basis. That also makes one of the plant pods cost around 2,95$ which we feel is not very overpriced for clean, local & fresh food. Plus, if you cut them right, many of the plants will give you a second harvest from the same pod. What do you feel a fair price point would be?

Love the product - how does it/one tackle indoor pests, many vertical farming work around a controlled environment - how can one make the home a place to grow without inviting pests?
Liina Ilves
@raj_ventures Hi, Honey! Thanks! We've not had many problems with indoor pests with the Wall Farm so far, but we are actually currently in the process of developing a bio pesticide to offer help to those who might have this issue.

Nice, I backed the original Kickstarter for the little herb garden. This looks epic...I better not show it to my wife :)
Liina Ilves
@sams_antics Hi, Sam! Our Kickstarter backers are the ones that made all of this possible for us. Thank you so much!
Peedu Tuisk

I feel like this was made exclusively for SF, Austin, and NYC!
Liina Ilves
@louismagnotti Hi, Louis! What do you mean? We'd really hope the Wall Farms will find use-cases outside these three areas as well!

Looks very interesting! Are there any videos that go into how the growing system works?
Liina Ilves
@tylerswartz Hi, Tyler! Are you looking for a video explaining our technology in detail? You can read about our material and the supporting features (lights, watering mechanism etc) here: http://www.clickandgrow.com/page... and here's also a pretty good comparison between using hydroponics vs the smart soil: http://www.clickandgrow.com/blog... Let me know if you have any additional questions!
Julia Volyanska
Really great idea and execution!
Liina Ilves
@juljuly Thanks! We've worked with the idea to offer our technology in larger scale units for a while now so we really appreciate the feedback!
Julia Volyanska
@liina_ilves it's definitely a complicated case with the TA I imagine you are aiming for so will be interesting to follow your progress. Best of luck!

I'm confused about the pods. Are they required to grow anything? They contain the seeds, growing medium, and fertilizer all combined? I don't see this explained on the site very well. So can someone just plant seeds they have in the growing medium without using the pods? Just trying to understand. I would definitely add a question like this to a FAQ section on the site.
Liina Ilves
@spiffyman Hi, David! Yes, the plant "pods" contain the seeds, nutrients and the growing medium. You have to insert the soil in the pods that are integrated in the garden. We'll definitely add additional information to a FAQ section, thanks for the tip!

this sounds amazing and it looks beautiful! would love to win the wall farm mini ;)
Manan Gandhi
Love the simplicity of the product! What does it mean by semi-manual watering in the mini system, that I'm contemplating buying, and how does it compare to the larger unit that has automated watering?
Liina Ilves
@mr3gandhi Hi, Manan! Thanks for the question. The "semi-manual" should actually have been semi-automatic. Thanks for noticing, it's fixed now. What it means is that the farm has two separate thanks on two shelves which need to be filled manually once every 2 months as the farm doesn't connect to the central water system. The farm doses the water according to a plants needs and makes sure the plants always have enough water to grow. That's why it's semi-automatic.

Very nice product! what type of material it is made? Wood, Aluminum? It seems very light? Do you send it for all the world? Thanks.
