I love the integrations, especially that they work "out of the box" without the need to enter my own API keys 👏
Also love the chrome extension, that is the missing piece in many other tools.
@lucaronin Thanks Luca, yeah we wanted to make it so you didn't need to juggle API keys and just get going with the option to configure it if you need to. The chrome extension is going to do wild things. We'll turn every webpage into an API
I've been using Clay for awhile and it's really Airtable for Sales. It's an amazing tool that will help you mix and match and enrich to your heart's desire. I do cold outbound systems for startups (blueprintdata.io) and I can tell you that 90% of your time should be spent on list building and clay gives mere mortals the ability to mix and match data so you can speak to your prospect's pains. It's an awesome tool and I highly suggest you gift it to your sales team!
Amazing productivity tool for automating many workflows for us rusty developers (ie, execs, PMs etc).
Our teams use it for so many usecases: recruiting, internal tools, quick data stitching from two systems etc.
Hello Product Hunt! Kareem here, co-founder @ Clay.com. Today, we are excited to share Clay with you — a new type of product that brings hard-to-connect data sources together to build live lists of people and companies.
Big thanks to @nickabouzeid for hunting, and for being one of our earliest users at Clay ✨!
Our mission is to give more people the power to program. In speaking with our community, we found that for too long, sales, marketing and recruiting teams have been working with bad data, relying on manual work or requesting engineering time to build the workflows they need. Now, these teams can build their dream lists and automations in minutes without any code required.
It’s been great to see some of our earliest users mold Clay to their specific use cases. Here are a few cool examples that demonstrate what you can do with Clay:
🛠 Growth: You can stream in email signups from Hubspot, add data from LinkedIn (things like title, company, etc.), see if those companies are hiring for certain roles (via Google Jobs) or what their tech stack looks like (via BuiltWith), and then create automations based off the criteria that matters to you.
🎨 Sales: You could start by searching LinkedIn directly from Clay, add emails and phone numbers from sources like Clearbit and Hunter.io, create your own sales qualifying formula, and then sync back any qualified leads to your CRM or marketing platform.
📚 Recruiting: You can stream in Twitter followers (or even threads and DMs!) and Github stargazers to a table, filter the bios for keywords like engineer or iOS, match to LinkedIn profiles, and then connect to Lever or your email client.
For a limited time, we’ve removed our waitlist to let the Product Hunt community get creative with Clay. We can’t wait to see what you build! ✨
P.S. Here is a Google Page https://docs.google.com/document... where anyone can submit feature requests, bugs or feedback. Excited to build this together!
P.P.S. We’re just getting started! For more adventurous hackers, our Chrome extension https://docs.clay.com/how-to-use...
makes it possible for anyone to “map” a webpage so that eventually, when every page on the internet is mapped, no one will have to waste time scraping data again! We have a big vision and a lot of work ahead of us, let us know if you’re interested in helping us get there **⚡**
Great work! Your team has done a tremendous job shipping an unbelievable product and one I have used extensively. For anyone who has not used Clay, please go try it out for yourself right now…it’s SUPER powerful!!
Beta user for 3+ months now. I want to say only nice things so I will say this is almost as good as Blockspring was 4 years ago in a web UI. Web scraping functionality is limited to only a few used cases. It's a good product that is too complex for beginners and too simple for professionals. I guess that is a niche now.
@aaronlintz Blockspring was a really cool product! Thanks for trying it out would love to hear what would enable the more powerful use cases for you as well as what would make it easier to use. We're more focused on people and company data at the moment than general web scraping but have a couple of more things coming up that would make that you might find useful. I'd love to hear from you at kareem at clay.run
As a marketer, this !product reminds me of tools like Airtable and Zapier that have made my job easier. It seems like the ?makers have created something new that is very user-friendly with key integrations. Errors are inevitable with manual data input; Clay appears to have addressed the problem in a simple way. Looking forward to checking it out.
@tonypham Thanks Tony, that's exactly what we were going for, to allow people to automate away manual data-entry and get creative with what data sources you use to enrich your sign-ups, find new sales leads, or recruiting candidates!
@kareemamin you've succeeded! Created a free trial, but can't find any information about your pricing. Does it cost a soul or two? Also, can we integrate with Airtable?
@brianswichkow :) We'll be putting up information on our pricing soon, we're still figuring out the best way to structure it. We're thinking there will be a platform fee and then if you want to use the data providers that we have integrations with and you don't have an existing subscription with them e.g. People Data Labs, etc you can buy data packages from us.
We have an integration with Airtable that we'll be releasing in the next few weeks.
Would love to chat with you about this, we have a 3 months customer pilot program that gives you access to Clay for that period for a discounted price
@kareemamin we appreciate the candid response! Would love to be in the pilot program and share our thoughts as we make use of the platform! Would be interested in an affiliate program too as we teach our community about what we're doing.
Feel free to email me at brian (at) inc (dot) one
@anton_svetlov That's a great question! We've taken more of an easy to use database approach rather than a spreadsheet approach - ie. we have tables with typed fields, vs an open canvas spreadsheet that has "C3" type coordinates.
We find for list-building, with known object-types, well defined, database-like tables do a better job. We've got built in People tables that autocomplete when you type - and need little wiring up to get going. Company tables are coming soon, and then other object types that we can make easy to get going with and turning on enrichments and integrations around. Our general tables still give you the flexibility to model whatever data you want as well!
The Chrome Extension we've built out is a really powerful addition as well in so far as you can map and pull structured data from any website - and the community has already mapped many pages so you can just get the data from those in a click or by pasting a link into out tables. This experience is going to be even easier over time.
We're uniting the ability to Search/Find across large sets of structured data, Enrich & Prioritize, and also integrate all your tools together to build automations that can speed up a variety of parts of your biz.
Was just checking Clay out this weekend after seeing you as a partner on Makerpad, the part where I could add enrichments felt pretty useful. Excited to try it out now that you've opened up access.
@jollygoodgooner Sweet! Yeah excited to have you try it out, the enrichments are pretty powerful and we are going to add a bunch more sources (to add rows) and integrations to postgres dbs and other data warehouses soon
