Self custody is essential for keeping your property safe, but we have to recognize the risks. What if I lose my recovery seed? What if someone else finds it? Our solution: Encrypt it offline! Sharing this simple solution with people who value freedom and want a better way to manage their risk.

We are also working on macOS and Windows versions of ciphergoat! Coming soon...

I like the idea of a password vault to store secrets like private keys and secret phrases (kind of like a LastPass for crypto/web3). Since most users just store these high value items on notepads or other insecure places, I think this moves the bar in terms of storage and usability. It also helps users understand that these secrets shouldn't be shared outside of the vault. I know friends that aren't tech savvy that have shared their private key since they didn't know any better. Good work everyone! Would be good to have some way to access the vault programmatically across different devices. Just a thought!

@cjries Thank you for the feedback! We completely agree and want to contribute wherever possible to improve the tooling available to onboard less technical users to web3/crypto. Also, there is a ciphergoat CLI tool coming soon which will enable more interoperability between devices.
