Nicole, great to see more music-tech product being released. Christopher Gulczynski and former VP of design @ Tinder Sarah Mic released something similar last year called Next democratizing the discovery process by letting fans vote similar to chosen. What direction are you aiming to take different to the path they went down?
@dgreenstein1 , we are for the first time, gamifying the spectator experience. Judges compete to prove their expertise. We've designed a series of games that let you prove you have good taste. For more, please see http://bit.ly/1yLCdbP , my post on medium.
We created Chosen to be the next generation of reality competition programming that anyone can play. It turns talent discovery into a fast-paced mobile game, allowing users to watch short clips of user-submitted performances then choose who they think is the best.
We’ve been working on this for over a year now and are really excited to share our first public release with the Product Hunt community.
How it works: Performers can upload their video performances, or record their own using Chosen’s ‘Karaoke,’ ‘Lip Sync’ or ‘Perform Now’ modes. These videos are incorporated into quick talent-scouting games for viewers – aka Judges – to test their star-spotting prowess.
For a very limited time, we're letting Product Hunters skip the waitlist & instantly start using Chosen. You'll be able to reserve your username, upload videos & participate in gameplay. You’ll also get a leg up on the competition for our first contest, a partnership with Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in June.
We would love to hear your comments and feedback. Please feel free to comment here, or e-mail me directly at nicole@chosen.fm.
