“Please hold while we transfer your call.” We’ve all experienced it… 30 minutes later (if you’re lucky), you get to talk to someone. ChatDesk is solving the “waiting on hold” problem. Aneto and his team have built Social Shift, a product that allows the customer to simply transfer to chat rather than running out of patience while on hold. Functionally, you call in, get an automated response like “instead of waiting for a bajillion hours, would you like to speak to us right now on Messenger? Press 2 to accept.” And then magic, you get a request via messenger to talk with someone. Billions of people use messaging apps such as SMS, Facebook, WhatsApp, WeChat, etc. to communicate with their friends and family. Despite this, the majority of customer support still happens over the phone. This costs companies A LOT of money (on avg $6-8/call). Outside of just saving a company money, there's a huge opportunity to "deflect" silly questions with FAQ bots, or even automating returns by connecting with Shopify, etc. ChatDesk is onto something huge. I’m excited to see where they go!
