Chaport is a beautiful, simple live chat, with premium quality and affordable price. Chaport is designed as a modern messenger. It has a single app for operators and admins with clean UI, same for all platforms.

I can't believe chris hunted this guy. They basically copied the whole intercom design

@uxdzen Intercom looks nice. We love the beauty of their widget. And as I said earlier it uses the same Google’s Material Design Guidelines. That’s why we look very similar. To be unique wasn’t our main goal. We could easily make a square button instead of the circle. Or don’t use the animations that Google suggests to use. But we didn’t want. It looks cool and customers like it. In regards to the similarity of the shortened version of the widget (when auto-messages appear): Tidio implemented it first and then Intercom used this idea. Our main goal is to be simple to use and solve customer needs at reasonable price.

@uxdzen I see the similarities — especially in the widget design and icon. The color scheme is also pretty familiar. That said, there are some emerging patterns in customer service applications that are becoming hard to escape. At the same time, this create an opportunity for @alex_shvalev to double down on differentiating his product's design and look and feel to address some of the concerns raised here.

@uxdzen @alex_shvalev @chrismessina This is not an example of using an emerging standard. This is straight up stealing.

I really like your product and I've installed it at www.nextreality.tv I do, however, have one request. Could you make the profile image appear above the box instead of to the left of the box. It covers too much of the site's content when it is placed left of the box.
Alex Shvalev
@deanfankhauser Thank you, Dean! We'll consider your request. However, at the moment we think that the current design solution is more suitable.

This product seems well thought out.

Pros:

Easy Install, Zero learning curve.

Cons:

None significant yet

Is there a way to plug it into existing web app, so I can get user’s detail like username, email, paid/free plan, etc? It would also be nice to be able to customize auto invitations based on user’s browser locale, so I can for example greet them in polish.
Vasily Naumov
@pawelkadysz Thank you for the comment! In regards to your 1st question, our Javascript API is currently under development. We’ve exposed a couple of undocumented methods through which you can partly achieve what you need (i.e. pass non-custom user fields including name and email), however we are currently working on adding custom fields and documentation as well. As for your 2nd question, for now I can only agree that it would be nice 😀 We had been trying to implement it in the past, and are likely to return to this topic in future as multilingual support does not feel full until this point is implemented. 😀
Pawel Kadysz
@wnaumov cool. The first thing is pretty much the only one that keeps me from installing this on stock.tookapic.com and upgrading right away ;)
Vasily Naumov
@pawelkadysz Good to hear it! Make sure to signup and we will let you know when this gets done! :)

This app and their makers should be banned from Product Hunt. This is not an implementation of Google's Material Design guidelines. It is a blatant ripoff of Intercom. Someone had Intercom open side by side with Sketch and simply copied it. Creating a simple, beautiful, and intuitive user interface is hard. The more simple it looks, the harder it was to create. This is not the way you build apps or launch a company.
Mehdi Izemmour
Wow, never saw a chat for website copying that much Intercom's design. Even the animations! Don't you have enough imagination to build your own UI/UX? You should update the headline to "Intercom, but cheap and only for website chat".
Alex Shvalev
Hey @izemmour! I think we used the same Google's Material Design Guidelines (https://material.io/guidelines/) and we both did it well. And it seems that we both like Snapchat's chat icon placed in a circle 😉. We are trying not to reinvent the wheel and to make a chat widget that is understandable for customers. I, personally, think that many of UI designers should limit their imagination a little, but follow the guidelines and best practices more. p.s. Your headline sounds good 😀
Greg Stone
@izemmour to defend the underdog, I think a lot of small businesses are looking for an elegant online chat and engagement solution that doesn't cost your soul. Intercom's solution can too bloated and expensive for many business to justify the price (especially since it constantly goes up with every new user). While I agree that the design may not be truly original, so are many other chat apps like Kayako, Freshchat, and more that all steal from Intercom's design. Intercom has simply become the standard -just like Apple did smartphones. Not sure reinventing the wheel would have been a successful move. I think @alex_shvalev is hitting a ripe market that wants this kind of solution.
Alex Shvalev
@izemmour There are so many Intercomers today with similar questions. Intercom’s city Dublin has become the most popular city in our today’s Google Analytics report 😂

@izemmour @alex_shvalev Because they are preparing a lawsuit

Incredible. Set it up in five minutes, started working with it almost instantly. The only trouble I have is that I'd love to be able to send a welcome message in the chat automatically form every consultant. That way I can let the customer know its ok to leave and come back and they won't lose the chat history. Would love not to have to type that each time.
Ven
Just to clarify, I suppose the auto invite feature covers this but that only lets me send one message. It'd be great if once the chat was opened by the user, the second message would send.
Vasily Naumov
@luqven thank you for your feedback, can you please provide a live case scenario where it would be useful? Our general concern is automated messages are frankly very easily distinguishable and aren't really trustworthy for visitors. Looking forward your message! Thank you for trying the app!

Easy setup and installation. Using it for our ecommerce store Pacific Outbound Clothing Co. We've been bouncing around multiple chat apps and each one has their own little quirks that we didn't like on mobile. But this one has proven to stand above them all. Looks great on the website and just worked. The backend dashboard could use a little color -it's all just very white- but that's just me. I think this product is going places.

Pros:

1 minute setup, beautiful, all needed functionality, mobile app and just works

Cons:

This looks promising. Been hopping around chat apps for our ecommerce biz for a long while now trying to find the right fit. Intercom is bloated and overpriced for us, while other solutions lack an elegance (especially on mobile) we're looking for. I'm signed up and excited to see how this compares. I'll leave a review soon! :D
Alex Shvalev
@gregstone14 Thank you! It's so nice to hear it! We'll be waiting for you review! 😀
Bruce Kraft Jr.
i'm number #500! LOL
Mac Connolly
Love this - you implemented Google's Material Design Guidelines to a T. We'll be using this asap as right now intercom is too bloated for our early stage company. The design controversy in the comments is silly - customer service widgets that look like this have become a standard, and having something that looks familiar to the customer for us (as many others use intercom) is an advantage to us using Chaport. Thanks for the work!
Alex Shvalev
@macconnollyco Thanks! Looking forward to you becoming our customer! 😀

Hello Product Hunt, and thanks to @chrismessina for hunting us! We’ve been working hard for almost 3 years (initially we hoped it would take a couple of months 😃) and now we’re happy to introduce you to our new product! 🎉 We started Chaport with the vision of creating a beautiful, simple live chat for websites that should be of premium quality and at an affordable price. Of course, there is already Intercom on the market. We think it's great, but we don’t like its complexity and high prices with the audience-based pricing model. Chaport is designed as a modern messenger. It has a single app for operators and admins with clean UI, same for all platforms. Here are some of Chaport's key features: 💎 Premium looking chat widget that works great on mobile (even on unresponsive websites) 🖥 Beautiful desktop apps for Mac & Windows 📱 Full-featured mobile apps for iOS & Android 👥 Group chats 🔗 API and Zapier integration 🆓 Free plan for 5 operators with unlimited chats and history You can get 50% off with the PRODUCTHUNT50 coupon code. We’d like to make Chaport even better! Thoughts / ideas / questions? Please let us know 🙏🏼
Product Pearson
I can't upvote this. It's a complete clone of Intercom.
Alex Shvalev
@theashtube Just look inside. We’re different. Maybe the one more reason why you can’t upvote us is that you submitted Intercom’s book today? 😉
Product Pearson
@alex_shvalev I'm product agnostic. So no, that's not why.
Ilya Rudometov
Looks cool! 😎 Congrats on the launch! What languages does your widget support? It’s written that you have a “multilingual” one
Alex Shvalev
@ilya_rudometov Thank you, Ilya! 😀 At this moment our chat widget is automatically translated into 9 languages: 🇺🇸 English 🇷🇺 Russian 🇪🇸 Spanish 🇵🇹 Portuguese 🇩🇪 German 🇫🇷 French 🇮🇹 Italian 🇳🇱 Dutch 🇹🇷 Turkish It’s easy to add more. We are adding new languages by request.
Beth Fiedler

Alan Houser
Fantastically simple setup. So easy to use.
Paul Kamau
Been using Chaport for about a week now and I love it!! Only thing i would ask for is more auto-invite criteria and emoji support. Thanks for making such a useful and affordable product!
Dominik Angerer
Hey @alex_shvalev do you have any comparison table to other competitors up? Currently using Crisp - before Drift. What are the main differences except for the payment per seat? Best, Dominik
Alex Shvalev
Hey @dominikangerer! Sorry, we don’t have such table. The main difference is that Chaport is much more simple. We have beautiful apps for Mac & Windows and we’re trying to keep the UI as clean as possible. We’re building an opinionated software with minimum settings. Just paste the code and start enjoying the communication with customers like you are chatting with friends in your favorite messenger app.
Dominik Angerer
@morajabi need to admit - i‘m really happy with it as well - setup for all our applications was also only about 5 minutes :)
Baptiste Jamin
@morajabi @dominikangerer Interesting. I'm Crisp.chat co-founder. I don't want to interfere with the post, but the first crisp version we made looked like the same: https://www.producthunt.com/post... It was two years ago.
Mikhal Morozov
