Cardinal is the platform for product teams to define strategies, break it down to goals and set specs (features) with live data and KPIs across systems, consistently through teams and projects.
Hey hunters ✌🏻
It's been a while since we launched a product here on Product Hunt 👏🏻
We’re Wiz & Mor, co-founders of http://cardinalapp.io. Very excited be sharing Cardinal with the PH community today!
😩 Why Cardinal?
Managing product teams, building and shipping features is hard. Product discovery, spec-ing, prioritization, alignment, measurements and learnings all take a toll on teams trying to execute and build impactful features.
We’ve spent years battling these challenges building and leading product and engineering in startups (Onavo, Docady, Houseparty) and corporates (Epic Games).
🧠 What we’re all about:
1. Managing strategy: through time, initiatives and stakeholders.
2. Methodology: all your teams are aligned and work the same way.
3. Documentation & Knowledge Management: know your history and use it easily.
4. Data & Insights: connect various systems and set real, live goals.
@nadavwiz Congratulations on the launch of Cardinal, the platform for product teams to manage their strategies with live data and insights and enables teams to consistently align and work together to achieve goals. well done.
What I love about what Cardinal is doing is that they hit product teams common pains head-on. These guys have seen in first hand in a bunch of startups and companies are are really trying to service PMs and product teams smartly and with a new approach.
Any good stories of a time when Cardinal could have helped in the Houseparty days? Love that you're building something that solves a problem you've experienced. ✌🏼
@theriodegennaro Hey Joan, definitely!
In houseparty we had explosive growth and we were super analytics-driven. we've shipped a few hundreds of A/B tests a year, had various product-marketing initiatives, kept changing focus areas as we kept growing (early activation, friendships, video quality, engagement and even games later on).
We made up our own internal system for knowledge management (using FB's Phabricator) and were very heavy on raw SQL visualisations (ran our own experiments implementations, client/server differently and had clever feature flags using Launch Darkly ontop)
That's all to say, we worked really hard to make our own systems in place, we took those lessons and frameworks and built them into Cardinal so others can take it and build on top.
The way Cardinal aims at helping product teams win really resonates with what I’ve seen teams fail at time-and-time again. Having a data-driven mentality, measure, learn - these are hard and maybe can be better done with Cardinal.
Cool launch. Congrats guys! How does qualitative feedback play a role in Cardinal? Will you guys be connecting any repos like fullstory or productboard?
Also are you guys targeting more B2C or B2B product teams?
@seanlewin Thanks Sean!
Yes, we definitely aim at adding a lot more integrations, and in a deep, novel way.
We want you to be able to bring and sync data with any aspect of product work, and set goals and share it internally. live, shared, useful.
Product discovery is a critical part of everything, which is also why many product tools gravitate / pivot to. we want to support that from an idea phase onwards. survey tool, analysis, are all on our roadmap
As for B2B or B2C, we've done both, we feel B2C is generally more data driven but if i had to guess most of our later stage customers will be B2B.
B2B has real challenges around maintaining customer knowledge, usage, value. challenges around consistent PM work across many people, teams and parts of the business - these are all what we're trying to tackle in a way that's honestly not available to day.
Always been a fan of when data is presented beautifully. Big congratulations on the launch - looking forward to seeing how this progresses and transforms post-beta.
So incredible to see Nadav and Mor doing their own thing again!
Kudos, I've been waiting for this launch!
I've been a long time user or Docady, Houseparty and other things you guys have worked on, and know the high quality of your work and dedication to shipping and solving problems!
wow, I feel like I've wanted this for every product team I've ever worked on. super great stuff guys - thanks for building! excited to get started using 🙌
@royce_branning1 Thanks Royce! amazing to hear! i have to say "I feel like I've wanted this for every product team I've ever worked on" is with me everyday since we've articulated the idea
Biggest mistake we made early on in building Dive Chat was not looking at analytics frequently enough. Cardinal ensures metrics are at the center of every product decision.
Metrics-focused building will ensure you iterate quickly, grow your team's overall accuracy on product, and - most importantly - rapidly improve the end user experience of your platform.
Fantastic work to Wiz and the whole team!
Using Cardinal has helped spur our team into becoming even more goal and data-driven. The way Cardinal ties KPIs and initiatives together is unlike any product I’ve used before and couldn’t be more excited to support!
Great product, great team! Fly Cardinal fly! 🦅
The ability to set specs with live data and KPIs is a game-changer for product teams. It's great to see a platform that puts everything in one place and makes it easy to stay on top of goals.
Amazing! Having spent years in product management we were always missing the ability to measure and tie back analytics to the actual spec. Really want to see it in action. We use Notion + MixPanel so looks like you can already support us :)
I really appreciate the consistency aspect of Cardinal. It can be challenging to maintain consistency across teams and projects, so having a platform that helps with this is a huge plus.
