Captee is an app that makes marking up a link (both URL and title) a one-step operation straight from the macOS Share menu. Results are stored in the system clipboard for pasting into your favorite editor.

Hello Product Hunt readers! If you use Markdown a lot and find yourself wrapping web links from either Safari or Chrome on macOS to put into Markdown, I invite you to try out Captee, an app I wrote to solve that very problem. Many apps (both native and web) support Markdown links including Slack, Jira, Discord, and GitHub, but I've found editing them to be a hassle. Captee makes this step much easier by putting together the title and URL of a web page together for you.

Congratulations on the launch of Captee! This sounds like a fantastic way to quickly and easily mark up links. I'm excited to try it out!

@rana_phool Thank you!
This is a great tool for content creators! How about adding a feature to convert Markdown content to HTML for easy publication to websites?

@realvladgolub Thank you! Will consider your suggestion, although the app's focus has been to convert to Markdown and not the other way around. Note that if you copy formatted text (bold, emphasis, code) to Captee, it will convert it to Markdown. It also supports converting to Org Mode too!
