🚀 Grateful for the #2 launch 5 years ago (to the day!), enabling me to work full-time on Calcapp! Our release today adds powerful action formulas, a tabular data editor and 11 types of buttons to Calcapp — the app builder with the mightiest formula engine. 💪

Hey Product Hunt! I'm thrilled to be doing another Calcapp launch, exactly five years after our first one. On that day, traffic spiked, we got great feedback from you guys and various online publications featured write-ups on us. I have worked full-time on Calcapp since then, which in no small part is due to the success of that launch. Thanks, Product Hunt! 😻 (Calcapp is mostly a solo venture. I get help from my father who does our books and medical apps and from contractors who pitch in on occasion.) Today also marks the release of our most significant update yet, nearly two years in the making. Calcapp is a no-code app builder providing you a lot of power through its Excel-like formulas, and this update makes them even more versatile. At the same time, we have made even more features accessible to our formula-averse users. (We think we can have it both ways -- a deep, powerful platform for those with the time to learn, and an easy-to-use app designer that makes creating straight-forward calculators and data-collecting forms child's play. At least that's the goal we're working towards.) Our new action formulas are used to tell buttons what to do with 30 new action functions, introducing a lot of flexibility. There is also a new editor making it easy to edit tabular data (and look up values using the new XLOOKUP function), many new button types, autocomplete for formulas, a much better email editor, really comprehensive documentation with thousands of formula examples and much, much more. We're excited to see all the new apps that take advantage of the new features! Our users often open our eyes to new ways of using Calcapp, and to new problems it can solve that we hadn't thought about, and we don't think that this release will be any different. 😸 PS. Big shout-out to @sasha_codes and DeviceFrames.com (launched on PH in 2021), which I used to generate the images in the gallery with iPhone, MacBook and iMac mockups, in conjunction with Inkscape.

Hey guys, here's our blog post describing the release (linking to 20+ blog posts, so it's a big one): https://www.calcapp.net/blog/202...
Alex Chepovoi
congrats on this launch! there's nothing more powerful than spreadsheets :)
David Polberger
@alex_chepovoi Thanks! Yes, that's our thinking. In terms of formulas, we've been trying to stay far closer to Excel than other app builders, so that people are able to use their Excel skills when using Calcapp. Of course, an app builder isn't a spreadsheet, so we have formula features that are specific to Calcapp: https://www.calcapp.net/learn/ad...
Keep up the great work! As soon as a try will send feedback.
