Marc and I got together a couple of months ago to talk about how we could collaborate on Cabana. Having created the Figma Tokens plugin I knew a few ways of how we could leverage Design Tokens to create a design system that's flexible enough so users could customize it to their branding decisions quite easily.
Currently, there's support for Color, Shadow and Typography tokens, giving you the ability to change Figma's native styles by using design tokens with references (e.g. theme.bg.surface references global.gray.100), Math (font sizes are using a type scale multiplied by a base factor, all easily customizable) and support for multiple themes and brands. We've included a few examples in the Cabana file, but you can create your own by using these as a starting point.
We're working hard to ship further support for design tokens that wouldn't be possible just by using Figma alone. With the help of Figma Tokens we'll be supporting border radii, spacing and many other design tokens, giving you a way to create a multi-brand design system quite easily.
As I worked in agencies previously I've always wanted to work on a design system that can change to my branding needs just by changing a few dials and levers, and with Cabana Ultimate Edition we've set out to do that.

Design Tokens, which are the biggest thing to happen to Design Systems, since, well, Design Systems...
...have arrived with Cabana, my Design System for Figma.
Iโve had the honour recently of teaming up with Jan Six (the creator of Figma Tokens plugin and Product Designer at GitHub) to collaborate on Cabana; Ultimate Edition and bring the massive benefits of Design Tokens to it.
Since we launched in Early February, the response has been amazing, and we continue to improve on it week by week (Typography Tokens have just arrived in v1.1 for example)
