Easiest way for creators to sell online

Arpit Choudhury
Wow this looks so good. Wondering why I haven't heard of this before!
Jijo Sunny
@irhymeth Haha, thanks Arpit! Not too late, you have a beautiful welcome email waiting for you πŸ’Œ
Arpit Choudhury
@jijosunny You know the "what do you do" section lets me type in but has a 20 character limit. I just want to say "I design conversations" but that's also 21 chars. I believe choosing just a category isn't enough and moreover there are very limited topics to choose from.
Jijo Sunny
@irhymeth Right, those are not categories but suggestions. If you like to enter a lengthier bio, simply use the 'what do you do' section. It'll appear above the featured image and looks really good.
Arpit Choudhury
@jijosunny I think you mean 'about you' here. I've already added a bio there. But since 'what do you do' appears right below my name, I'd want that to be more specific and 20 chars is too less.
Jijo Sunny
@irhymeth Yes, I mean 'about you' :) I understand that 20 chars is too less, but we designed BMC in a way that the section accommodates a category name or a title. Check out the explore page to see how it fits with the design: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/exp... Also, I'll check with the team to see if increasing the char limit is a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion!

Love the idea behind this product. Definitely going to use it to create paid access to a few templates/files etc on my website.

Pros:

Super easy to set up. Creates a new and easy way for people to implement a paywall.

Cons:

Potentially easy to circumvent if links are shared.

Shyjal

Super happy user of Buy me a coffee here. So excited to try the new feature Coffeelinks.

Pros:

Simplest alternative to Patreon

Cons:

Nothing so far

Shyjal
This is rad πŸ’― I am going to try this out for my future projects.
Joseph Sunny
@shyjal @adithvictor Thanks guys! πŸ’•
Adi Goldstein
Such an amazing idea and design, Here is my BMC Link :) bmc.xyz/l/AGsoundtrax Thanks so much for sharing!
Joseph Sunny
@adigold1 Looks great, Adi! Glad you like the idea and design :)
Jake Crump
Another cool product from the BMC folks! So, how does everyone take their coffee?
Joseph Sunny
@jakecrump Thanks, Jake! πŸ™Œ Creators instantly receive the coffee $$ if they set up Stripe. For peeps using Paypal, there's a small payout threshold ($10) –– but it's much easier and offers a lot more payment methods.
Don The Idea Guy

A++ love what the development team has planned. Cant wait to dive into the expanded options!

Pros:

Easy to use

Fast/friendly support

Clever way to collect contributions

Simpler to use than Patreon

More attractive than PayPal donate button

Cons:

Limited customization to payment button

Some CSS font display issues w/ embedded buttons

The WordPress plugin is not as robust as I'd hoped

Jijo Sunny
Thanks for the thoughtful suggestions, Don! We'll take the button issues seriously. We're also in the works to offer an embeddable widget which will facilitate payments right from your website. Cheers!
Sooraj Chandran
Great one. I'm a happy user of BMC. Feels like Coffeelinks will make life easier for publishers.
Joseph Sunny
@iamsooraj πŸ”₯❀️Thanks, Sooraj!

Okay now this is an awesome idea! I love BMC and have been using it along with my YouTube videos for a while now. I will definitely be looking at taking advantage of this new service!
Joseph Sunny
@unclejessy4real 🀘Thank you for supporting us from day one, UncleJessy! πŸ’– We love your videos, especially this one 😺

Now I can`t even imagine how we used to do without a coffee maker. Not much of the wash - just shake out used coffee ground out of filter, rinse under the tap, stop up with a new coffee. Espresso https://hotcoffeeworld.com/ turns frothy like one you may buy in a coffee-house. And there is a nozzle for cappuccino. And what about drip coffee maker - agree, they are not supposed to make good coffee. Of course, professionals do it tastier, but I am ok with it.

This is amazing! We already use BMAC for one of our projects and currently in the midst of adding BMAC integrations to 2 on-going projects. Hands down the best and the most fun way of getting support from our community πŸ™Œ I tried patreon but it wasn't for us. As developers, the word 'coffee' attracted us by 10x magnetic force. Looking forward to use Coffeelinks pretty soon. Thank you Jijo and the team! We are in your coffee debt ;)
Jijo Sunny
@dinuka_jayasuriya :D thanks Dinuka! www.codingradio.xyz is definitely one of the coolest websites using BMC button on the sidebar πŸ’―
Dinuka Jay

I've used BMAC for over a month now so I'll count those days in this product as well

Pros:

Amazing initiative! Another fun brand around payments πŸ‘

Cons:

None, baby! πŸ•Ί

Igo Akulov
I love you. Also, needs more detailed previews to get the feeling of the hidden content. Of course, the publisher can do it in description, but last time I checked you were all about making it easier. Did I mention I love you?
Jijo Sunny
@igoruphere Haha, we heard you so loud and clear that we bought you a coffee β˜•πŸ’– Thanks for the comment and thoughtful suggestion, Igor! We'll surely think of ways to add more features without cluttering the sales page.
Vishnu Ks
This is so cool!
Joseph Sunny
@hackerkid Thanks, Vishnu! πŸ™Œ
Ali Siam
Could you guys share how you managed to grow your community and when was the initial release? Love the product so far πŸš€
Jijo Sunny
@ali_siam Hey Ali, of course, we would love to share! There was a 2-month private beta phase before we launched publicly on the 1st week of Jan (https://www.producthunt.com/post...). Things we tried initially: – Talked to early creators (a lot). We had to do this because BMC is inherently viral (creators sharing their BMC page = more creators signing up) + we got to learn plenty about how to serve them best. – We were super-active on Twitter from day 1. We engaged with all mentions and bought a bunch of coffees to many great creators 😻 – Automated organic growth by adding cues to share more, from the welcome email to dashboard pages. Not sure how well it worked. – Buttons surely helped with search rankings –– https://twitter.com/BuyMeACoffee.... Hope this helps, Ali. I'll do a blog post covering all these in depth and more. πŸ’―
Ali Siam
@jijosunny Thats awesome! I know from experience building a platform with a community takes a lot of time, I'm glad you are seeing growth. I'm hoping this can replace my needs for Fiverr in a unique way. :D Looking forward to your blog post! Link me your Medium profile if you will post on there and I'll follow you. Cheers & best of luck!
Mubaris NK
This is amazing 😍 Surely gonna use it for my future projects πŸ’―
Joseph Sunny
@mubaris πŸ’―awesome! We're a tweet away if you need anything –– https://twitter.com/BuyMeACoffeeHQ

Joseph Sunny
@ajay_c_thomas Thanks, Ajay πŸ™Œ
Comhghall Baiss

Love the name ;)

Pros:

fun and easy to use!

Cons:

none yet

Lee Qixian
I don't see BMC taking a cut off anything? So if I were to buy a coffee for $3 all proceeds go straight to the creator?
Jijo Sunny
@swiftpolar Yes, we take a 5% cut as mentioned in our FAQ. There is no monthly fee. Creators will be paid 95% of the amount they receive after a 5% platform fee (a creator earning $50 will keep $47.5). It goes to fraud prevention (we manage chargebacks), platform maintenance and building more tools for creators, just like this one :)

Andy Davis
This looks great. I'm planning on using BMC for a future project and this looks like another solid offering. Thank you for building these tools for creators πŸ™
Jijo Sunny
@magnet1cfields πŸ’žGlad you like it, Andy! We're trying our best to build more tools & solve more important problems for creators. Here's a quick glimpse of the newsletter we sent out earlier today:
