I've used brain.fm for iOS for about a year and a half, it's the best possible way I can get quality focus while doing work. I also use it when I'm doing mundane household BS like dishes or cleaning, kinda just helps me get in the zone and not be distracted by how annoying it is not having a dishwasher :). Happy they're expanding to Android and looking forward to trying these new piano focus channels.

@samchristie - I don't think we've heard of people using Brain.fm while doing chores. I'm going to try this myself. Maybe this is the solution to spotless households? πŸ€”

Good to see it making it to devices. Definitely would love to see it be able to run without a network connection. Also, I installed it on a Clazio (http://clazio.ai) and it installed normally, and I logged in (although I didn't easily find how to log in - instead I filled out the signup form and was told I already had an account and then was allowed to log in), but when I tried to start the audio it just stalled. It said it was buffering, but the timer never started counting down.

Really nice! I'm so glad it's finally out!

Congrats on the Android launch. I still wish you'd revamp the login screen on your website so that Chrome can remember my password. I have to do a password recovery every time I try to use the site from a different device... similarly, password reset seems to only generate a single-use password, and doesn't present the option to set a permanent one. Would also love to see "login" and "logout" buttons instead of relying on cookies - sometimes the site only presents me with the "listen now" option, which then doesn't work because I'm not logged in.
Dan Clark
@rossdcurrie thanks for the continued support & feedback! We actually have a new stack finishing QA and rolling out in the next few weeks which will be patching some small experience issues like the login screen!

I've been using the Android for a little while, and it works great. And Brain.fm really saved me when I rediscovered it recently. I've been struggling with focusing for some time, put on "Intense focus", and it felt like I had 4 arms and where super focused. After just a few minutes. Highly recommended.

Pros:

It freaking works, and it works well

Cons:

Nothing

Discovered Brain.fm a few years back. Since then it's been one of my favorite productivity tools ever. It's a real world audio version of the limitless pill. I use it as background music to my Spotify/Soundcloud playlists and get in the zone for hours at a time. Highly recommend it to everyone.

Hey everyone, we’re back and better than ever before. We’re really excited to premier our new Android App with the Product Hunt community. 😻 If you haven’t heard of us, we create music through our patented AI to help people focus, meditate, relax and sleep better- backed by our scientific studies and research. πŸ” Our mission is to combine Music + Auditory Neuroscience to enable any mental state on-demand. 🎧 + πŸ”¬ = πŸ”₯ We have some huge updates since we had our last debut on PH: β€’ Recently won a $225k National Science Foundation grant to study our music as a treatment for ADHD. β€’ We have a polished Android App and made major stability updates for our iOS App. β€’ New piano focus sessions going live today! β€’ Improvements to our AI and 3D processing which enables us to generate more sessions faster and helps people get into the zone in less time. I'm Adam Hewett - inventor of the AI, the auditory backbone of Brain.fm, and with me is Dan Clark, CEO. We're happy to answer any questions and would love to hear your feedback! How do you use Brain.fm and what features are you most looking for?
Vivan Jayant
@brainfmadam Is the validation of ADHD benefits data going to be public? I am very interested in finding ways to use technology to help with ADHD.
Adam Hewett
@vivan Definitely! The National Science Foundation grant we received will result in a study. Phase II of the same grant will result in more. There is already a lot of data I would like to put up, like fRMI results. But, the process of science is slower than my need to brag about how good things are turning out. :) For now we have a science page: https://www.brain.fm/science Later I'll upload a recent poster we made and let you know.

@brainfmadam have you guys gotten the offline mode working on your iOS app yet? Seems to have been broken for months now. I paid for Brain.fm premium a year ago and have sent multiple emails to try to troubleshoot this, but have had trouble getting any replies.
Dan Clark
@brainfmadam @petermccall Yes, We have! Make sure you update your iOS App to the most recent version in the store. We've spent a lot of ❀️ and time making sure that playback works. Please reach out to me directly if you have any more problems! dan@brain.fm

Your product really works. It's pretty incredible. Congrats on the launch. I enjoyed using the beta in Android

I use several days a day when I want to focus on a task. Usually my mind is always following "the shiney object" and I get distracted a lot. With Brain.fm I can focus and get tasks done. I used during Pomodoro method work sprints.

I used last year while writing my book. Helped turn off that negative voice in my head that used to procrastinate me when writing. Recommended.

Pros:

Easy to use, fast to get into the focus zone.

Cons:

Currently requires internet connection. I would love offline mode for airplane flights or in poor wifi zones while traveling.

I've used brain.fm for quite some time, and been using the Android beta for weeks. Does definitely help. I've used it to keep my focus at work, soothe my baby boy and sleep better myself.

I've used brain.fm for over a year and has been helpfull along the way to focus and relax.

I have about a week with the app and haven't found any issues with it.

The offline option allows to hear just the songs we like the most!

Thanks

Pros:

The app is easy to use and the offline option is great.

Cons:

None

Jasan
Just got it. Wished it had a Chromecast feature.
Dan Clark
@jasan thanks for the feedback! We have integration with popular devices on our roadmap in the future. In this case we're considering a number of options, because of how sound waves work in a room. Definitely recommend headphones / earbuds for best effects!

Glad the Android app is finally here. Now I can go sleep while listening to music 😁
George Donnelly

Love this and use it daily

Pros:

easy to use, works cross-platform

Cons:

need more music selections

Adam Hewett
Lots more music genres on their way! Added piano tracks today, we'll soon have piano and classical categories, atmospheric, more cinematic, more electronic. What would you like to see on there? Thanks!
Beth Fiedler

I felt lucky to get their 50% off lifetime when it was here last round.

When I was stressed and/or overwhelmed with lots of things going on, Focus has been helping to clear my head. Using Relax for occasional breaks (feeling refreshed) and haven't tried Sleep yet as I need a comfy headset. All in All, Brain.fm is a life saver. Great job and congrats! πŸ’―πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Pros:

Really works

Cons:

Can't think of anything major

Adam Hewett
Thanks Beth! Get the Acoustic Sheep headphones, those are the best out there now IMO.

Less than a day in & Absolutely loving the product. I understand the amount of research that has gone into creating this and I appreciate that immensely. However, a free tier plan with limitations rather than a free trial of 5 sessions would do wonders for a Beta with so much potential & gaining traction. Just a thought.

Will definitely get on Brain.fm Pro when I can afford it. Hopefully soon because this is a winner. Great job!

Pros:

Wonderful product. You'll subconsciously see the results in minutes

Cons:

A free plan with limited genres rather than limited sessions is much needed

I've only been using the Android app for a few days as it just recently launched - but I've been using the service for about a month and it REALLY WORKS. We've all been there - it's the middle of a particularly hectic work day, and your mind is darting from one task to the next, frustrated and all over the place. That's where I find brain.fm stepping in. A quick meditation session to calm my nerves, followed by the 'Focus' session to power through each task! Really can't recommend this service enough!

Pros:

It seriously works! Backed by machine learning and AI as well as results, I'm always able to get in "the zone" when I need to.

Cons:

None so far. The app is simple and intuitive and the service itself rocks!
