Hey everyone! I’m Tina, co creator of Bounty, along with Cameron Kelley. Bounty is the best way to help friends land jobs and get paid (a lot) along the way. We’re hoping this: 1) Becomes a great side hustle for well connected folks. 2) Helps companies hire faster than ever before. This project started because we were seeing other founders posting bounties or referral bonuses ad hoc on Twitter. They would offer thousands if someone intro’d them to a candidate they hired. Excited by what we were seeing, we set out to create a platform that would aggregate bounties in one place and manage the process end to end. Here’s how it works if you’re interested in referring: • 🔍 Find a bounty on our site or newsletter. • 🎯 Refer candidates you know through our referral form, it’ll take < 1 min. • ➡️ Share the bounty to increase your odds and get a cut of the sharing bonus. • 💰 Get paid when your actions lead to a hire. Here’s how it works if you’re interested in posting a bounty: • 💵 Set your bounty amount. We'll handle paying it out. • 🔗 Increase reach by adding a sharing bonus to incentivize people to pass on your bounty. • 👩🏻‍💻 Triage incoming referrals in your dashboard. • ✨ There’s no upfront costs. You’ll only pay if you end up hiring someone. Super excited to be sharing Bounty with the PH community. Would love to hear your feedback, questions, and ideas!

@bochkovaleks Thanks Aleks!
Aditya
This is a great way of incentivising the whole job referral system to open up. Good work, Cameron and Tina!
Cameron Kelley
@adityavsc Thanks Aditya! We think there's a lot of opportunity for companies to experiment with paid referrals, especially early-stage startups hiring for key roles. It's always important to hire the right people, but even moreso for a small team!
Przemek Szustak
Nice concept. Payout is on the employee side or on your side?
Tina Jiang
@przemyslaw_szustak Thanks Przemek! The person who makes the referral that leads to a hire gets paid out the full bounty amount.
Przemek Szustak
@tina_jiang2 This person is paid by Bounty or directly by the employer?
Tina Jiang
@przemyslaw_szustak Paid by the employer but Bounty will process that payment in product.

Such a great idea!

Thanks yingning!
Alexa Vovchenko
I like the idea, it's much more comfortable to have such information appearing in one particular place. Wish you succeed!
Tina Jiang
@aleksandra_vovchenko Thanks Alexa! Definitely agree that aggregating everything and formalizing the process has a lot of benefits over a more off the cuff process.

Great idea! Actually there is a huge successful platform called Wanted based on S.Korea (you can search wanted jobs via Google). It's also a job platform where friends can get rewards to refer his/her friends for the job. It's really working well in my country, so I'm so sure that your site can work in a global level too!
Tina Jiang
@andrew_cho Thanks Younghwi! Wanted looks interesting, great to have some proof of concept internationally.
Theodor Marcu
Congrats @ckelley and @tina_jiang2!!! 🚀
Tina Jiang
@ckelley @theodormarcu thank you!! 🎉
Roshan Fernando
This is amazing! As you get more and more bounties on the platform, do you have any plans to enhance discoverability? Ie, perhaps I work in the healthcare tech industry, and I get notifications every time a bounty for someone in my particular industry is posted?
Tina Jiang
@roshan_fernando Thanks Roshan! Definitely will be thinking about discoverability as there are more bounties on the platform. Letting someone opt into notifications about a specific industry is a great idea, I could see us sending subscribers a form to set those notification preferences. We'll also probably have filters on the site where all the active bounties are listed!
Richard Kong
Congrats on launching! Super useful for startups looking to get their first hires too!

@snowingpines thanks richard! 100% agree that this is a great way for startups to have a leg up in the hiring process

Arek Der-Sarkissian
This looks awesome! Congrats on the launch, guys; looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Tina Jiang
@arek_der_sarkissian Thanks so much Arek!
Julie Chen
Awesome concept!! Ditto to everyone else - I'm constantly referring people in and out of jobs, so this is a cool way to consolidate. Hopefully you can leverage this network-driven approach to support underrepresented groups as well! I know the "network" is often inaccessible to underrepresented groups in tech, and this might democratize access.
Tina Jiang
@julieechenn Thanks Julie! And yes!! Definitely hoping that this approach will open things up and lead to more diverse referrals and therefore more diverse teams :)
Linda Zhang
What a cool concept, go Tina!
Tina Jiang
@thelindazhang thanks linda :)
David Zhao
this is incredible! streamlines and adds transparency to a crucial process!
Tina Jiang
@dzhxo thanks david!

Congrats on the launch! @tina_jiang2 It would be great if you can add some sort of expertise tags, so recruiters would be able to sort faster and with higher quality. For example: you know C++, you recommend someone for C++ position, and this recommendation would have more weight in the eyes of a recruiter or a hiring manager.
Tina Jiang
@eugenehp Thanks Eugene! Expertise tags are a great idea and would be helpful in triaging, definitely something we'll consider going forward.
