Everyone's building scooters! Can't wait to unveil the Product Hunt scooter.

That kind of money in India gets you an electric scooter. Like an actual scooter with seats. Check atherenergy.com

Love Boosted. It's a fantastic second vehicle! This new scooter looks amazing.

Interesting first entry into this fast-growing category. Good speed, range, hill climbing power, braking, weatherproofing, and reasonably good design. (Never used the Boosted thumb throttle/brake interface, but the early reviewers seem to like it.) For those complaining about the price, I think the premium over competitors like Xiaomi's prices reflects the reliability and post-sale service that Boosted is known for. I put down a deposit, and this will be the second electric scooter in our household. I was spending $50/day on Uber/Lyft and constantly stuck in traffic. I've been commuting with another import brand (the Inokim Ox) and love getting home in half the time, avoiding burning fossil fuels, and saving money over the long-run. It will pay itself back in ~6 months. And I agree with Boosted's view that the ownership model (versus shared rentals) is optimal for most commuters -- always there, store indoors (versus sidewalk), always wear a helmet.

Haven't used this scooter, but own an even higher-end scooter and placed a deposit on the Boosted Rev

Pros:

Speed, weatherproofing, hill-climb power, performance-to-weight ratio, service

Cons:

No front-wheel brake, no suspension, slightly limited range

Any way to lock it?
Gary TIlkin
@zappe Interesting that you ask about locking it. With my other scooters, I used a cord lock with combination. Had to put it through the front or rear wheel spoke. Boosted REV allows you to actually put the lock through the Frame. Now if you were referring to programming locks like on Ninebots Segway, it does not look like that is in their current program. However, at 47 lbs, a person could just pick it up and walk away with it. Good idea though.

Boosted is here to dominate the scooter market now. Really though, very cool. Excited to see how this fares out

@sanjaydastoor Will the skip scooter fleet upgrade to these?
Sanjay Dastoor
@tono_mb There are different design requirements for a shared vs. owned vehicle.

I'm happy to see the growth of electric scooters as a solution for last-mile city travel, but most of them are absurdly overpriced. Why on earth would someone drop nearly $2k on these when you can get Xiaomi's for $500?
Cody
@andrew2 Seriously! So many options and many times the exact same thing just unbranded being sold on amazon and aliexpress.
Gary TIlkin
@andrew2 I owned two $500.00 scooters. Fun, OK to drive. The reason I am dropping $1599.00 is safety, quality, ego and customer service. It is the same reason I purchased Mercedes-Benz and Lexus. Do we need all the stuff they provide, NO. Nobody does. Do we want it and can we afford it. Yes we can. This Scooter will be my 62 birthday present to my self. Fun stuff

A week ago I did two things. First, cancel and requested a refund on my Ninebot MAX order. I got the refund two days ago. Second, I placed a reserve on a Boosted REV. I am so upset with myself. Why did I wait so long. I am at the end of the cue for delivery. I almost want to buy another scooter to drive from now until I get my Boosted REV. So excited and look forward to doing a detailed review on this item.

Very f...g expensive
Gary TIlkin
@vladkorobov Yes, yes 1599 yes. Not for everyone. Until it ships and some real customer reviews happen, may not be for anyone. In our world, you get what you pay for (sometimes).
