Hi everyone! โœŒ๐Ÿป I'm very excited to launch a side project that I've built with @davemeyer as part of our first 1-month-project. ๐Ÿ“š BookNook, your digital bookshelf. Create your own book-portfolio and keep track of what you've read, are currently reading or plan to read. BookNook's library consists of more than 40 million books. So finding and adding books will only take a few seconds. ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Status quo We built BookNook for everyone who wants to organize their books, flex their portfolio or just want to share it online. Our current features: โ€“ Create your own BookNook โ€“ Search books (Library of 40M books) โ€“ Add books to different categories โ€“ Edit your BookNook and profile โ€“ See the BookNooks of other people ๐Ÿ”ฎ What's next? Going forward we have many ideas and plans and also the vision of building a social platform for book lovers. Here are some ideas in no particular order: โ€“ Users can add their affiliate links to their books โ€“ Users can get recommendations based on their books โ€“ Users can make notes for their books โ€“ Users can define monthly/yearly/... reading goals โ€“ Users can add friends and join book clubs โ€“ Users can rate books or leave a comment ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ After the successful launch of our MVP we decided to take a more community-driven approach. We left the stealth-mode and started building BookNook in public. We always share our progress on Twitter and love to connect with our users. If you are interested in the project and also want to contribute your ideas and feedback, let's connect! โ€“ twitter.com/d4ve__ โ€“ twitter.com/Dave_Meyer_ โ€“ twitter.com/booknook_cc Thanks for your support! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

cool idea, worth trying out! I'll keep adding books this week. Can def see this being something you put in one of those links on your IG account and people can see your reading list. Or just sharing it with a friend. One bug: I'm adding books to "2023" but they are populating in a list with title "2022." Suggestion: Allow me to edit which list the book is in (ex: if I accidentally selected 2021, there's no way for me to change that as of right now).

I was just up last night trying to find a new book to start. I would love to see other people's portfolios instead of just looking for highlight reels on Instagram where people share their book recommendations. Congrats on the launch! Excited to see where this goes!

@kaitlyn_short Thank you, Kaitlyn! Appreciate your comment a lot. ๐Ÿ˜Š Yes, it's definitely a great way to discover new books. We are also planning to launch a dedicated section where we curate different book collections based on a specific genre or topic. So stay tuned! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป
