I feel that there are so many dating apps out there at the moment. They all focus on a different feature which makes them different but I'm concerned that a feature is often not going to be enough. Dating apps need the audience and I wonder if certain features will actually bring that crowd. Also, a dating app is only as good as its matches. It's a hard market to crack but excited to see how it goes!

@bentossell I do think that we have clear differentiators. And the matches are good ;) That's what we've focused on. People that actually are mutually interested to get the conversation going. Plus, it's a lot more interactive and exciting by matching via the self-destructing selfies :) But I appreciate your honest thoughts. :) And thanks!

@danieldelouya yeah I by no-means know what features will succeed. This may be it. If I download this now, I would bet that hardly anyone else would be on it in my city. I'd then delete it. In a bigger city obviously it will be different. I'd love to hear from someone who has been using the app

@bentossell That's why the world needs to hear about Blume so that won't happen 😄 Getting off ground in the beginning is always the hardest thing to do.😊🚀

@danieldelouya Which is why, in this highly competitive space, it is hard to get going based on a feature. As I said, I'm interested to see how it goes.

@bentossell It is a highly competitive space indeed, but also i highly insatiable one as well. I still don't believe Blume is just one feature. The whole concept evolves around matching in an completely different way that hasn't been seen before. But yeah. It's going to be interesting - as with anything :)

Hi everyone! We recently launched Blume, a selfie-dating app that solves ‘catfishing’ in a super simple, fun and engaging way. 💑📷 As recently mentioned on Blume's Techcrunch article this Saturday (http://techcrunch.com/2016/01/16...) we believe that online dating is suffering several major problems. One is the uncertainty about who’s actually behind the profile you’re matching with. Another major issue in online dating is that people tend to get too many matches and that makes the whole experience of meeting people online quite impersonal. Blume is increasing the chance significantly that the other party is actually interested in getting the conversation going since both parties have to initiate the second step after the initial connection, and that is to send each other an freshly taken selfie in order to match fully. Check out the visuals to see how it works, and please try it out yourself! Blume is available on iOS, and Android is just around the corner ✌️ We’d really appreciate your thoughts and feedback on the product! Looking forward to chat with you guys! Cheers Daniel /CEO & Co-founder
