Blockchain Home Registry — A web3 real estate platform to claim the NFT of your home
BHR allows homeowners to claim a verified NFT of their property, giving them access to a permanent, transferable, historical record of their home. New data is added to every home record through integrations with organizations across the real estate ecosystem.

Went to go mint the NFT and MetaMask is telling me the gas fees can’t be calculated and they are nearly 1.5ETH is that normal? Or is the network just jammed

@biggiephat Hey Jon, thanks for checking us out! We've optimized our smart contract for very low gas fees compared to most (around $10-25 USD / ~0.005 ETH), so it's possible that's a network issue. Please wait a couple minutes and try again. Alternatively, I've run into issues like that when I didn't have enough ETH in my wallet to cover the transaction cost and gas fees (more detail here - https://github.com/MetaMask/meta...)

@zach_gorman Thanks for the information. It was because I didn't have enough ETH in the wallet to cover the gas + minting fee. All is well and just purchased the NFT

@todd_miller Hey Todd! ReConsortia looks interesting, but we can’t see past their home page, so we can't really speak to their actual product or progress beyond what’s there. That said, Blockchain Home Registry is being built as a collaborative standard, and we love to see innovation in the space from everyone, and that’s a big part of why we decided to build this. It looks they went through NAR Reach three years ago, so we hope that the NAR has been able to provide them great support. We're currently in discussions with many large organizations (title, lending, insurance, brokerage, etc.) to build BHR as the standard that works for everyone in the industry.
Happy Torii customer and investor, and super excited about this product! I can't connect my Metamask wallet, however. It just spins on the connect wallet confirmation modal. :(

However during this time we’ve also come to appreciate how deeply broken and inefficient the real estate industry is, at a fundamental level. As a collaborative standard for organizing data, information, and transactions, web3 offers us the opportunity to redesign the real estate industry from the ground up. BHR is a platform that allows you to claim a verified NFT of a property you own, giving you access to a permanent, transferrable historical record of your home. New and rich data (ownership history, maintenance and renovation records, solar potential, etc.) is added to every property on BHR by integrating organizations across the real estate ecosystem, so you continue to learn more about your home over time.
We believe that if you own your home, you should own its data too. There's an immense wealth of data related to your home that you must pay for and much of this data is completely inaccessible to homeowners. The real estate industry has always been highly fragmented and notoriously protectionist, often at homeowners’ expense. This needs to change and that’s why we’re building BHR.
Homeowners on BHR will have total control over what data, if any, they want to share. If you want 100% of your data to be private, you can do that. Alternatively, you can choose to share and monetize your data with integrating organizations as well.
Your BHR account and information is more secure than most banks. We've built a verification process to prove that you own your home, as well as crypto wallet and email verification - all of which are required in order to access your home’s records.
Imagine a world where all of your home documents (deed, permits, building plans, title, mortgage info, etc) are easily accessible and useful. A world where all of the fixes and improvements that you invested in your home are accurately documented. A world where a solar company discounts your rooftop solar panel install or your lender refinances your mortgage automatically if rates drop. A world where appraisals happen instantaneously. A world where you can sell your home with the click of a button: you get offers with no contingencies because potential buyers can see everything about your home. Hey everyone! It's been an incredible two weeks since our launch. The response and support we've gotten from the Product Hunt community has blown us away.
One of the key pieces of feedback we've received was support for more types of crypto wallets, so I'm happy to report that we now support Coinbase wallets in addition to MetaMask ✅
We're also working on integrating a custodial wallet in the next couple of days, so you'll be able to easily claim the NFT of your home with a credit card - no cryptocurrency or crypto wallet required.
We understand that there's still a considerable learning curve in web3 for people who are unfamiliar, so these new features should make it much easier. That said, we also want to continue to educate as many people as possible about the space, so if you have any questions please reach out or drop a comment below.

Hello all! I mentioned this in my last update, but a lot of users have told us that BHR is their first exposure to web3 (which is amazing). However, setting up a wallet and purchasing crypto remains a barrier to entry for many.
We're all about making web3 easier, so now anyone interested in claiming their home can do so with a credit card.
All homes claimed via credit card will be held in our custodial wallet by default, but we can easily transfer the NFT to your Coinbase on MetaMask wallet if you prefer. Thanks for your support, more to come!
