@kaylee_lieffers really interesting niche - white label cosmetics! If this ends up being a success - are you hoping to move into different verticals (Ie: merch/water bottles/clothing etc)? Or will you try to expand into different markets with the same model? I am also curious how the pricing works on your side - are you simply putting a small markup on products for services rendered or is the pricing structure much more complex? (Also feel free not to answer if its proprietary) Anyways - l love the UI and the idea seems super flushed out!

@dzaitzow Hey Daniel, thanks so much for your feedback! Right now, we're laser-focused on the beauty industry, as we see a lot of room for growth here. Some of the products we currently offer include makeup, skincare, haircare, men’s products, and vitamins & supplements. While we may explore other categories down the line, our focus is firmly on beauty for now. As for pricing, we've kept it simple – a monthly subscription fee plus the cost of any products you choose. @kaylee_lieffers Love that from a pricing perspective - I also feel like that degree of transparency helps prospective buyers in their decision making process. I haven't seen too many folks in the space doing this - are there any big competitors doing what you do (or close to) and what differentiates you from them?

@dzaitzow Thanks for the feedback on pricing! It's tough to know if you've nailed pricing - it always feels a bit like a moving target 😛 Our biggest competitors are the manufacturers themselves. But funny enough, they become our suppliers! Theoretically, one of our customers could go to a manufacturer directly, but they would then be stuck with only the products that manufacturer offers, plus there are high minimum order quantities, no branding of the products and zero fulfillment. So we are the best alternative because we address all of that!

The great thing about Blanka is that we can work with entrepreneurs anywhere in the world (we have shipped to over 47 different countries to date!) But because we are globally agnostic, we leave the tax component up to the owner of the brand. That being said, Blanka integrates directly with Shopify and there are some amazing Shopify apps out there that can handle taxes on your behalf (Zamp and TaxJar to name a couple!)

I love that! at the same time so does that mean that people are basically going to be getting the same foundation just with a different brand label on them? They are just doing print on demand it's the same product essentially just with a different label on it? I think it's a great concept but as long as there is a variety of different types of foundations or different types of makeup products or supplements and it's not all just everyone doing the same makeup product with a different brand name on there! But I do think it's awesome! all love!

What are the ways you'll help your clients keep their products differentiated? How much upfront and ongoing design/consulting/advisory help do you provide your clients?

@clarryant Thanks for the feedback Chris! Great questions! Since our products are private labeled, the main way they are differentiated is through custom logos on the products and packaging. This is actually quite common in the beauty and wellness industry! That being said, we've seen increasing demand from clients for more customization options, including tailored packaging, ingredients, and even scents. To meet this need, we've introduced an enterprise offering that supports these customizations. When it comes to design and marketing support, we offer our clients access to the Blanka Marketing Hub, where they can purchase marketing and design services. However, we primarily focus on the supply chain side of their business, staying out of their marketing and branding efforts. Thanks for checking out Blanka ;)

i love the execution and the idea but its so niche the majority of us will never use this in our lifetimes. is there a serious need for this product? have you identified your potential customers? how are you targeting them? this is not an addon rather is a shop for your own product tied to a us manufacturer? i dont see any potential for this. sorry.

To provide some context on the beauty industry: - The global beauty market is projected to reach $646B this year. - Historically dominated by large CPG brands like Estee Lauder, the industry is rapidly shifting, with more than 30% now carved out by smaller, independent brands. - Many of these smaller brands don’t have the infrastructure to scale, which is where Blanka comes in! - There are over 1.6M small brands (those with less than $1M in GMV), representing a serviceable obtainable market (SOM) of $4B for Blanka. - As we continue to grow and partner with larger brands, we see even more market share opportunities ahead. Traditionally, if someone wanted to start their own beauty brand, they would spend hours vetting suppliers, they would have to make a large upfront investment in inventory to meet minimum order requirements, they would have to store their inventory somewhere and they would have to manage the logistics related to shipping products to their end consumers. With Blanka, entrepreneurs launching independent brands no longer have to deal with these headaches, because we take care of everything from sourcing, through to branding and fulfillment. Several years ago, my wife and I explored starting a skincare line. It felt like it should have been possible, but the lift ended up being way too heavy. If Blanka had been around then we would have been off and running. This is such an incredible idea that has been also executed very well! It's like Shopify and Square in that it will inevitably create exponential value by spawning a slew of new companies. Great job, Blanka team!
