@jongold you can still use it to edge / line your beard etc!
Vishal Kuber
Any chance down the road we'll see a waterproof model? Waiting till we can get blade attachments but amazing product nonetheless. (Currently use an Oster Classic 76 Clipper and Conair i-Stubble)
ᴹᴵᴿ
@vkuber Hey Vishal! We're always looking to improve upon our products and if thats something that we see a demand for we'd definitely explore it. Hoping you're in for the line-up!

How much do blade replacements cost? I normally buy a new set of clippers when things get dull
ᴹᴵᴿ
@anderson760 thanks Joe! we'll be releasing individual part pricing soon. However, we've utilized hardened steel for the blades with professional usage frequency in mind and are confident that for an individual user the blades should last a long time!
@ChuckReynolds
I've been buzzing my head for 5+ years now with a $40 wahl from target. and face stuff with a lithium ion little wahl that as like $50. I like the design of this thing... i'm just trying to see the cost-benefit here.
ᴹᴵᴿ
@chuckreynolds Thanks for your question Chuck! The main cost-benefits here are: - designed to be a long term device, even for professional usage which is achieved by using high quality and premium components (motor, battery, materials). - the Bevel Dial provides tool-less zero gap for the sharpest line-up and closest shaves. Current, similarly powered products on the market require you to have tools to screw the blades off, manually adjust alignment on flat surface and then screw blades back on to get zero gap. Ours has this built into the blade itself. Snap-off, adjust, snap-on. Its easy, quick and repeatably aligned accurately. - the trimmer runs 4 hours at constant power (as well as corded high power trimmers), and stays charged up to 60 days. enables you to travel without worrying about carrying cords and chargers. - the blade has a conformal coating that not only is oleophobic + hydrophobic (helping minimize residue build up) but also helps inhibit bacterial growth over time. this leads to cleaner trimming/shaving experiences. this is even more important in a barbershop. - the modular design allows you to replace blades and battery packs. in most cases with trimmers, if the batteries stop holding charge (after a few years) you would have to purchase a new trimmer since they're not replaceable. With ours, you can simply get a replacement battery pack and you're good to go! We're confident the cost of ownership over time for the Bevel Trimmer would be cheaper than having to buy multiple trimmers. - its a professional level tool. we've spoken to barbers and more often than not they have multiple trimmers, with the blades set to different lengths (since there's not enough time to zero gap with tools in between hair cuts), and also to battle the temperature/heating up issue. One heats up and they pick up another. The motor in our trimmer is very efficient and remains cooler than similarly powered trimmers allowing professionals to using just one trimmer over multiple cuts. Hope I've answered your question!

Definitely going to pre-order. I've had to replace my Norelco 7300 2 times now (I love it, but at this point I'm not going to buy a third replacement for $60) and I want something that will last. Congrats on the launch.

@rajamatage Can't wait to welcome you to the family!

@rajamatage thank you for the support!!

So cool - best of luck to the Bevel team even though they don't need it at all!

@andythegiant Thanks Andy! You getting yourself a trimmer? We've gotta get you involved!

Just wanted to comment on how sleek and dope this looks! Feels like something that would come out of the golden age of Braun. I would love to hear more about who/how this was designed?
Mari Sheibley
@danielrakh Thanks Daniel! We started with observations of users, both barbers and individuals. We asked them questions and watched them use their existing trimmers. Our goal was to try and understand pain points and latent needs. Once research was completed, the same Industrial Designer (Martin Bone) who designed our Bevel Razor put together a creative brief with basic creative territories he was going to explore. He went to work concepting various forms that solved the problems we observed in our research phase while trying to hold true to our existing Bevel design language. From that exploration came the groundwork of the final trimmer. The design was very much based on the evolution of the legacy trimmers you see today and we wanted to weave that narrative into everything we did for the trimmer. We worked with Martin to iterate on the form, choosing the right materials for both brand consistency, and more importantly, function. Small trade off had to be made for engineering, but for the most part we were able to hold true to the original vision.
Daniel.
@mari18 thanks for the in depth response! There's so much info on how software products are made its great to hear about the design process for hardware as well for a change!

As someone who hasn't straight shaved their face in over 5 years, this is awesome.
tristan walker
@fancyjeffs does that mean we can count you in? :)
Napoleon Suarez
@tristanwalker First off, congrats on the launch! I've been following Bevel for a while now and I use the razor constantly. Do you have plans to add attachments to the new trimmers? I don't use a trimmer, but I use a set of clippers to buzz my hair a few times a week. It'd be dope to be able to add an attachment for different lengths.
ᴹᴵᴿ
@napoleonsuarez thanks and glad you asked! we're launching with the first blade set which aims to deliver a closer shave and line up. The blade has a built-in adjustment (tool-free Bevel Dial) to be able to zero gap. However, we definitely have cutting hair to different lengths on our roadmap! stay tuned.
Jason Wise
@mirmanwar @napoleonsuarez I'll +1 for attachments for bearded folks...When you guys get to that portion of the roadmap, I'll definitely be a customer! Sweet design and features, Tristan.
Don Loeb
@mirmanwar @napoleonsuarez does this mean we can buy this version and get an attachment for different lengths later or should we wait for the next version?
Nicholas Sheriff
@tristanwalker Tristan & Team congrats...Their is a point in which a product is absolutely game changing it actually goes out of its way to redefine the essence of what it is. If this is the new standard, I'm pretty excited for what the future holds for this entire market. Although I only shave once every 6 months this is going on my wish list!
ᴹᴵᴿ
@nicholassheriff Thanks Nicholas! We truly believe we are simplifying the user experience without compromise - on the contrary improving it with our new features (Bevel Dial, coated blades, battery x power combo). Welcome to the Bevel family!
Ricardo Diaz
Loved the website design and the video...neat! #bevel-trimmer
ᴹᴵᴿ
@rdiazjimenez Thanks Ricardo! You in? :)
Alex Diaz
I've been needing a new razor, super stoked about this. I really need something that can last, and I'm just not getting that. Are their separate prices for parts?
tristan walker
@optimusdiaz package comes together. Post launch we'll likely sell blades and battery packs a la carte too
Drew DePriest
Exciting to watch you grow such a successful company, Tristan. You're not a businessman, you're a business, man. Question: any other Spotify playlists you've been working on since your 90s Mix a few years back?
Alex Frias
Congrats on the new product. I joined Team Bevel in October and haven't looked back. Would you compare the Trimmer to like an Andis T-Outliner Trimmer?
ᴹᴵᴿ
@iamalexfrias Thanks Alex! Check out my answers above to Deandre and Chuck for the main differences between us and products currently in market. Hope that answers your questions, but feel free to ask me again if I've left anything out!
Jacques H. Bastien
Wow! This is DOPE. I've been cutting my hair with the same kind of clippers for over 5 years now... I think it's time for a change :) Congrats @mari18, @tristanwalker, @mirmanwar and the rest of the Bevel team.

@jacqueshbastien thank you for the support! It matters!

Literally stopped breathing when I saw the announcement for this on Twitter.

1. Is the trimmer versatile for head shaving as well? 2. If someone were to purchase the trimmer now, can the attachment heads be purchased separate later on?
Lynn Fredricks
@eli_s_kami My question as well - how well would it stack up against Skull Shaver?
ᴹᴵᴿ
@eli_s_kami Hi Eli! Thanks for your questions! 1. It can definitely be used for head shaving. The optimal use for the blade set that come with it at launch is: close shaves (face and head), line ups and trimming between zero gap (super close) and backed up to what most trimmers are set at out-of-box. 2. Yep, for sure. The modular design lends itself to having extra batteries and different blade sets. Those would be purchasable separately eventually.
Dre Durr💡
I'm wondering what is the difference between this trimmer and an Andis. I've always used Andis and on the few emergencies when I would have to get an Oster for the power. Can you talk more about the "zero-gap"? One of the biggest problems I have is every new Andis trimmer. I always have to adjust the blade. Because it does not give that "krispy" look at factory settings.
ᴹᴵᴿ
@dredurr thanks for your question! the Bevel Trimmer provides a high power cut and is capable of doing so even when used cordless. The power remains constant through out the battery run time (4 hrs+) and it holds charge for up to 60 days. This provides you with a powerful tool on the go even when you travel without having to worry about packing long unwieldy cords and chargers. The zero gap adjustment (closest cut setting) on most products in market rely on using tools to removing screws and aligning the two blades on flat surface before screwing them back together. Not only is this time consuming, but is imprecise and requires juggling blades, screws and tools. With the Bevel Dial (check it out here: getbevel.com/trimmer), you snap off the blade and can quickly spin the Bevel Dial to zero gap within seconds (maybe less!) and then snap it back on. Time saved and perfect alignment every single time!
Dre Durr💡
@mirmanwar Oh man! This is a game changer. I've never had a trimmer I didn't need to adjust. In fact I didn't even think they existed. 🙃
